Padma Lakshmi recently posted pictures and videos on Instagram celebrating her daughter Krishna‘s sixteenth birthday.
The 55-year-old former Top Chef host posed in several selfies with her mini-me.
‘Had an epic birthday week with the Teen,’ she began in the caption of the carousel post.
She excitedly shared her plans: a dance party with friends, a mother-daughter trip to Miami, and a casual birthday and belated Christmas celebration with family at home, complete with ramen and comfy clothes!
Lakshmi playfully said she’s thinking of giving her daughter some space for her 17th birthday – it was the daughter’s idea, and Lakshmi seemed a bit overwhelmed by it!
Krishna turned sixteen on February 20th. Her mom shared how quickly time has flown, playfully noting that her ‘little hands’ are all grown up and wishing her a happy birthday.
Lakshmi is raising her child with Adam Dell, a 56-year-old venture capitalist, even though they only had a casual relationship before she became pregnant.
A recent social media photo showed the three of them together, celebrating their daughter’s graduation from middle school in 2024.
She excitedly shared on Instagram that she couldn’t believe her daughter would be starting high school after summer vacation.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone at the United Nations International School – the teachers, counselors, security staff, and all the other wonderful people – for their care and support of Krishna over the years. I’m so proud of everything she’s accomplished and how happy she is.
Last September, a mother shared a surprising fashion tip she gets from her daughter.
The TV star and Krishna graced the cover of Vogue India’s September issue, where they discussed how they inspire each other’s fashion choices.
During a game of ‘Tell the Truth’ on social media, the women revealed they constantly find themselves silently judging each other’s clothing choices.
We have a simple rule: if we wouldn’t want to hear a negative comment about our outfit and couldn’t quickly change it in five seconds, we don’t say it. But honestly, we’re very honest with each other before leaving the house,” Krishna admitted.
Lakshmi added about her mini-me, ‘And she’s always telling me to dress more provocatively.’
Krishna also mentioned that her mother reminds her of Georgia Miller, the character from the Netflix show Ginny & Georgia.
The tenth-grader said she believes the woman is resilient, and that her own mother has faced difficulties since birth. It feels like life has always been an uphill battle for her.
I’m really impressed with what you’ve accomplished. You’ve overcome challenges and done what it takes to succeed, and I truly admire your resilience.
