The first trailer has been released for Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Western series, The Madison. As the Yellowstone universe prepares to continue with the new series Marshals starring Luke Grimes, another show is also in the works. The Madison is a highly anticipated Western featuring a strong cast, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.
Initially, people thought The Madison would be connected to the Yellowstone universe, suggesting the Clyburn family would have ties to the Duttons and their ranch. However, it was later confirmed that The Madison would tell a completely new story, focusing on Stacy and Preston Pfeiffer and their family as they relocate from New York to southwest Montana’s Madison River valley.
Paramount+ just released the official trailer for The Madison, giving viewers a more detailed look at the Clyburn family. The two-minute trailer combines previously shown footage with new scenes, showing Stacy and her family settling into their new life in Montana. The series follows them as they adjust to living near the Madison River and hints at the tragic event that led to their move. You can watch the trailer here:
The new trailer reveals that The Madison will debut on Paramount+ on March 14th. Given that promotion for the show has only just begun, it’s somewhat unexpected that it will be available to stream so soon. It’s also interesting to note that the show will be airing at the same time as the first season of Marshals, though Marshals is on CBS. Regardless, March looks to be a very busy month for Taylor Sheridan.
The new show will only be available on Paramount+ and will have a short first season of just six episodes – shorter than most streaming series these days. Fortunately, filming for season two of The Madison is already complete, suggesting the story of the Clyburn family will continue beyond the initial release. Although Paramount+ hasn’t officially renewed the show yet, Taylor Sheridan’s decision to film extra episodes shows he’s optimistic about its success.
Even just from the trailer, The Madison feels distinct from other shows and movies in Taylor Sheridan’s world. The clip powerfully conveys the Clyburn family’s grief after a life-altering tragedy, especially Stacy’s sadness, but also shows moments of joy as she connects with her daughters and granddaughters. The younger actors bring a lighter, more upbeat energy to the series, highlighting the simple pleasures in life.
The Madison premieres on March 14 on Paramount+.
