Top Chef winner Kelsey Clark arrested for DUI after plowing into mailbox

Kelsey Barnard Clark, the winner of Top Chef, was arrested in Alabama on Wednesday after reportedly driving her car into a mailbox, according to police.

The chef and author from Dothan, who won Season 16 of the cooking competition in 2019, was arrested after an incident in a neighborhood nearby.

Dothan police responded to a call about a car hitting a mailbox on Selkirk Drive, according to Lieutenant Scott Owens of the Dothan Police Department. Officers believed the driver, identified as Clark, was driving under the influence.

According to police, she underwent standard field sobriety tests – things like walking a straight line and standing on one leg – and had difficulty with them.

Following the tests, Clark was arrested and booked into Dothan City Jail on suspicion of DUI.

Clark is a judge on the Netflix show Next Gen Chef and also owns KBC, a restaurant in downtown Dothan. He’s also a published author, having written three cookbooks: Southern Grit, Southern Get-Togethers, and The Flavor of Fire.

Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for Clark.
