New Sherlock Holmes Series Gets Posters With Prime Video Streaming Date

Amazon Prime Video has released new posters for its upcoming series, Young Sherlock, giving fans a better look at the actors and confirming when the show will premiere. These visuals highlight the fresh take on the classic detective story, directed by Guy Ritchie, and feature a younger version of the famous Sherlock Holmes.

Young Sherlock Holmes series posters highlight all characters

I’m so excited about the new ‘Young Sherlock’ posters! They finally revealed the whole cast. Hero Fiennes Tiffin is going to be amazing as the young Sherlock Holmes, and I can’t wait to see him go head-to-head with Dónal Finn, who’s playing the brilliant James Moriarty. Plus, Zine Tseng is joining the cast as Princess Gulun, which is a fantastic addition!

I’m really excited about the cast they’ve assembled! Colin Firth is playing Sir Bucephalus Hodge, and Max Irons will be Mycroft Holmes. We’ll also see Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes and Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes. What’s cool is the character posters really highlight who each actor is playing – it gives you a clear sense of their role in the story.

The new Prime Video series, influenced by Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock books, follows Holmes as he investigates his very first case. It begins with a puzzling murder at Oxford University that threatens his future and leads him into a larger, more complex plot. According to Deadline, this Sherlock is portrayed as a flawed and inexperienced young man – a far cry from the famous detective he’ll eventually become.

Guy Ritchie is back working on a project similar to his earlier work, directing and executive producing this series after successfully helming the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes. He’s also collaborating again with Hero Fiennes Tiffin, having previously worked together on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin praised the director’s approach to filmmaking. He told Collider that Ritchie is very confident and makes quick decisions on set, which helps the actors believe in his ideas. “He knows exactly what he’s doing, so it’s easy to follow his lead,” Tiffin explained.

Matthew Parkhill wrote and executive produced the series, with Harriet Creelman as co-executive producer alongside the rest of the production team. All eight episodes of ‘Young Sherlock’ will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting March 4, 2026.

Sherlock Holmes has been portrayed on screen many times, in shows like the popular BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and the films with Robert Downey Jr. This new series offers a fresh take, focusing on Holmes’s formative and turbulent years before he became the famous detective we know.
