I’ve been waiting forever for him to mention it, and it was amazing! I’m seriously obsessed with knowing everything about his life, and this little detail just… completes things, you know?
He remembered a mortifying experience: Jonathan had searched for his birthday online and stumbled upon a less-than-flattering nickname people used for him.
He talked about his new relationship with Honey, saying it’s been interesting getting to know her parents, who are very active online.
I recall she received a text from her dad because we were planning a trip and he needed to find my birthday. He Googled ‘Gav Murphy RKG’ and the very first result was a nickname – ‘The Grotmeister’.
He then began texting me, pretending to be a character named Grot, asking if I could include ‘Grotmeister’ on the airport arrangements. When I saw the message, I realized it complicated everything.
However, Gav added: ‘Luckily he’s quite grotty so it’s fine.’
In 2024, Jonathan made news when he jokingly compared himself and his wife, Jane, to ‘dirty hamsters in straw,’ revealing that he doesn’t shower very often – less than once a week.
During an appearance on the Parenting Hell podcast, the comedian expressed his strong dislike of grooming, bluntly asking if anyone would expect him to spend extra time on it.
I really dislike having to shower. I often go a week or more without one, and Jane does too. We’re basically like hamsters nesting in their bedding when we’re in bed.
When asked about his last shower, Jonathan replied it was yesterday, and questioned why he’d need to shower two days in a row since he hadn’t been exercising. He seemed annoyed by the question.
He admitted to once going fourteen days without showering while in Florida, mistakenly believing he’d been swimming. He realized he hadn’t when he noticed he still didn’t smell fresh.
He mentioned that during a Florida vacation – they own a place there – he likely went about two weeks without showering properly. He was in and out of the pool a lot, enjoying the sunshine, and just didn’t make time for a proper shower.
I noticed a bad smell under my right arm, so I tried to wash it away with a shower. It didn’t work, so I took another one, but the smell still wouldn’t go away.
I’m telling the truth – I actually had to shave my armpit hair because it was so tangled and matted. I only did one arm, though. Why bother with both? The other one hadn’t even grown out yet. I prefer using just one arm, so that one was doing all the lifting.
I always found it fascinating how he’d sometimes shower before a bath. He explained it was just to make sure the water stayed clean – he didn’t want to be sitting in, well, you know, dirt and dead skin! It always seemed a bit extra, but honestly, it made perfect sense to me.
He also mentioned doing something unusual – showering before taking a bath, which he said is a traditional practice in Japan.
He explained his reasoning by saying, ‘If you’re going to be covered in dirt anyway, why bother showering beforehand?’
Before I met Honey, Gav actually shared his life with a wonderful artist named Clara Sinclair. They were a couple when they welcomed Coco, his adorable chihuahua, into the family – and honestly, Coco is a total sweetheart!

I’m getting a lot of private messages and follows, both from people I know and strangers. It’s interesting because many of these same people wouldn’t publicly engage with my content, like liking or commenting on my photos.

She also shared that many plus-size women experience similar challenges when dating, often having to navigate their own self-image alongside the expectations of both their partners and society.
Honey explained that on dates, men frequently focused solely on her body type, with some explicitly stating they prefer dating women with larger builds and aren’t attracted to thinner women.
She used to jokingly mention on her dating profile that she looked ‘fatter in person,’ but recently discovered others were using similar phrases as a way to subtly warn potential matches about their appearance.
Honey mentioned she used to feel insecure because her thin friends often received more positive attention online than she did.
She explained that her friends were shocked to learn just how many hateful messages Honey receives.
She finished by sharing that she’s decided she deserves more than being treated poorly and accepting less than she’s worth.
