Zoe Ball spent some time relaxing in Jamaica, surrounded by family and friends, after a trip for some winter sunshine. This came as rumors circulated that she might be considered as one of the new hosts for Strictly Come Dancing.
The TV and radio host looked fit and relaxed while vacationing in the Caribbean with her two children, 25-year-old Woody and 16-year-old Nelly. She was seen wearing a black swimsuit during the boat trip with her kids, who she shares with DJ Norman Cook, also known as Fatboy Slim.
Fifty-five-year-old Ball and her family were enjoying a luxurious vacation at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica, once the home of James Bond author Ian Fleming.
I was so excited to see all the fun my favorite presenter was having! She shared a bunch of clips showing her, her kids, and even her son Woody’s girlfriend Ruby enjoying a fantastic trip. They were partying on a yacht, checking out beautiful waterfalls, and having meals right on the beach – it looked absolutely incredible!
She shared a post captioning a perfect day filled with her chickens, music, dancing, sunshine, jerk chicken, and rum.
While on vacation, the presenter is rumored to be a top contender for the new hosting job on Strictly Come Dancing, after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped down.
Several celebrities are rumored to be in the running for a popular TV hosting role, and it’s down to either Alex Ball or Emma Willis to fill the last remaining position.
Following Sara Cox’s departure from BBC Radio 2’s afternoon show after seven months, 49-year-old Steve Willis has taken over the slot.
Ball has said she’s very interested in becoming the new host. She previously hosted the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show, It Takes Two, until 2021.
Okay, so I’m hearing things are really heating up! Apparently, it’s down to Zoe and Emma for this opportunity, and it’s a pretty direct competition. Only one of them is going to land it – it’s a one-or-the-other situation, unfortunately.
The company leaders are looking for a main presenter with a classic style, paired with a more unconventional co-host – specifically, a female stand-up comedian.
People believe the funny and unique style Claudia brought to the show, especially through her segment called “Claudatorium”, should continue to be a part of it.
Ball recently confessed she would love to take on the most sought-after job in British TV.
Rumors really started to fly when the radio host said she was leaving her Saturday show, suggesting she might be available for a prominent television position.
Ball has finally addressed the speculation, stating that although no one has officially asked her, she’s very interested in the opportunity.
She admitted she’d love to return to the show, saying, ‘I really enjoy it, and I had a wonderful time performing with Ian Waite, who is a close friend. It’s just a really happy experience.’
She warned that replacing Daly and Winkleman would be incredibly difficult. She also emphasized that people often underestimate the challenges of doing live television, which is a key part of their job.
‘That show is a beast. Whoever gets to do it has a tough act to follow.’
