Patrick Dempsey was joined by his wife, Jillian, and daughter, Talula, at a BAFTA event hosted by Netflix, following the sad passing of his former Grey’s Anatomy colleague, Eric Dane, who was 53 years old.
Eric’s family announced on Thursday that he had passed away, just under a year after he revealed he was battling ALS.
Patrick, age 60, went to a glamorous party at The Twenty Two with his wife of 17 years and their 24-year-old daughter, Talula Fyfe Dempsey.
He looked elegant and sophisticated in a classic black tuxedo, paired with a crisp white shirt and a velvet bow tie.
Patrick, with his silver hair neatly combed back, posed for a photo with his beautiful wife and daughter at the party.
I was absolutely mesmerized by Jillian! She looked incredible in a sparkling black gown. And her daughter? Wow! She wore a beautiful black dress and honestly, they could have been twins – both of them were stunning.
The actor and wife Jillian are also parents to twin sons Darby and Sullivan, 19.
Iris Law, daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost, showed off her legs in a short, grey dress at the party, happily posing for pictures.
Jack O’Connell looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo. Machine Gun Kelly went with a more casual look, sporting sunglasses, a leather jacket, a navy T-shirt, and jeans.
The rapper was joined by comedian Pete Davidson at the afterparty. Davidson kept a low profile, wearing a black hoodie, blue baseball cap, and sunglasses.
Adelayo Adedayo showed off her toned stomach wearing a navy blue bralette, paired with coordinating trousers and a jacket.
Emma Thynn, a well-known socialite, showed off her fit physique while wearing a daring, low-backed dress without a bra.
The Marchioness of Bath stood out in a burgundy outfit, which she completed with diamond earrings.
At the awards show, Patrick walked the red carpet with Talula and then presented an award on stage.
I was really touched to hear Patrick talk about Eric earlier this week. He shared that they last spoke around a week ago, and he wants to cherish the fun times they shared – a really lovely way to remember someone. It’s a good reminder for all of us to focus on the joyful memories when we think of loved ones.
Eric became famous for playing many characters in Hollywood, most notably Dr. Mark Sloan – nicknamed McSteamy – on Grey’s Anatomy. Patrick Dempsey gained recognition for his role as neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd on the same show.
Patrick shared on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Friday that he’ll always cherish the happiness he brought to others and continue to celebrate that impact.
I was really shaken up this morning when I saw the news. It’s just… difficult to express how upset I am. My heart especially goes out to his kids; I can’t imagine how they must be feeling right now. It’s just so incredibly sad.
He was confined to bed and had difficulty swallowing, causing his quality of life to decline quickly.
He was a truly funny and delightful person to work with. I want to remember him for the joy and fun he always brought to the set.
He was hilarious and a joy to work with – we clicked right away. I’ll never forget the first time I saw him on set. He walked out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, looking incredible, and suddenly I felt very self-conscious about my own appearance!
We connected immediately because we didn’t see each other as rivals. It was simply a strong and genuine respect between us.
He was incredibly bright, and I’ll always cherish the fun times we shared. He brought so much happiness to others, and it’s a true loss for those of us who won’t experience his presence anymore.
He did amazing work raising awareness about this terrible disease, and thinking about his final days reminds us to cherish every moment and live each day to the fullest.
With so much crisis and tragedy in the world, it’s important to remember to appreciate every moment we have.
Patrick emphasized the importance of prioritizing family, pursuing meaningful activities, and helping others through kindness and love – values he believes are essential.
Honestly, seeing the state of things with leaders everywhere, especially here in America with this awful, crooked government… it just makes me realize how important it is to be a good person to those around you, you know? We have to treat our friends and neighbors with decency and respect, now more than ever. It’s the only thing that really matters, honestly.
