Hailey Bieber makes a whopping $20K donation to Eric Dane’s GoFundMe for daughters after his death at 53

Hailey Bieber generously donated $20,000 to a GoFundMe campaign created to help the family of actor Eric Dane, who recently passed away.

The 29-year-old model is one of many well-known people who have privately donated to a fundraiser started by friends of the actor, who recently fought amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Bieber’s donation stands out as one of the largest individual contributions to the campaign so far.

Hailey Bieber, the founder of Rhode, is worth an estimated $300 million.

In May 2025, e.l.f. Beauty bought her skincare and beauty company for $1 billion.

Brad Falchuk contributed $10,000, while Guy Oseary and Dana Walden each donated $5,000.

Producer Randall Emmett also matched Falchuk’s donation with a $10,000 contribution.

A GoFundMe campaign was started soon after Eric Dane passed away, with an original fundraising goal of $250,000.

Amid an outpouring of support for the fundraiser, the goal has since been doubled to $500,000.

At the time of publication, donations had reached approximately $290,964.

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson made the largest single donation to date, contributing $27,000.

Family members confirmed that Dane has passed away, just under a year after he shared his diagnosis of ALS with the public.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, is a disease that impacts the brain and spinal cord’s nervous system. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for it.

He is remembered by his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, and their daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.

Friends organized the GoFundMe to help support the girls and their future needs.

Organizers of a fundraising campaign announced with deep sorrow that Eric Dane has passed away after a courageous fight with ALS. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and his two daughters, Billie and Georgia, who meant everything to him. The announcement was made on the fundraiser page alongside a photo of Eric with his daughters.

They also shared that Dane was still dedicated to supporting those battling the same serious illness, but his condition worsened much faster than expected.

Dane’s friend, Mike McGuiness, spoke out in support of the fundraiser on Instagram, explaining that the actor had been significantly impacted by both COVID-19 and ALS, making it difficult for him to work.

McGuiness shared that both COVID-19 and ALS significantly impacted Dane’s career, preventing him from providing for his family as he’d planned. He described Dane’s death as devastating and called ALS a particularly hopeless disease.

He noted that Dane faced the disease with both ‘grace’ and ‘dignity.’

Gayheart later thanked her supporters with a short message on Instagram, simply writing, ‘Thank you to everyone.’

Shortly before he passed away, Eric Dane recorded a message for his daughters, calling it his ‘last words.’ This message was included in the Netflix documentary Famous Last Words: Eric Dane, which was released after his death.

In the film, which is almost an hour long, he spoke directly to Billie and Georgia, telling them, ‘I did my best. I made mistakes along the way, but I really tried. And honestly, we had a lot of fun, right?’

He shared four important lessons he learned while living with ALS. These included fully embracing the present moment, prioritizing love, carefully choosing your friends, and facing challenges with courage and grace.

‘This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit,’ he said.

He finished by telling Billie and Georgia, ‘You mean the world to me. Good night, and I love you.’ He said these were his final words.

Eric Dane became famous for playing Dr. Mark Sloan – nicknamed ‘McSteamy’ – on the TV show Grey’s Anatomy, a role he first took on in 2006.

He died on the 20th anniversary of his debut on the ABC series, which first aired on February 19, 2006.

He became known for playing Cal Jacobs on the HBO series Euphoria, and had already filmed scenes for the show’s next season before he passed away.
