Taylor Sheridan’s Landman Has Just Reached a Massive Streaming Milestone

I’ve been so impressed watching Taylor Sheridan’s career! Before moving to Universal, he really built an incredible world over at Paramount+. And I just heard his latest show hit a major milestone in terms of streaming numbers – it’s amazing to see his success!

The series Landman, co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace (based on Wallace’s podcast Boomtown), launched in November 2024 and quickly became popular on streaming platforms. Paramount+ renewed it for a second season in March 2025, which premiered a year later. According to data from FlixPatrol, Landman recently reached a significant achievement, staying in the Top 10 U.S. streaming charts for over 200 days.

Since it first aired, Landman quickly became popular and consistently ranked among the top 10 shows. When Season 2 premiered, it immediately rose to the top of the charts and stayed there for weeks. On February 21st, just over a month after the Season 2 finale on January 18th, Landman reached a remarkable milestone: 200 days in the U.S. Top 10.

Landman Is a Massive Success

Taylor Sheridan is the creative force behind the popular Yellowstone universe, as well as shows like Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown. His most recent series, Landman, has quickly become a hit, and as of February 22nd, it remains a strong second in the ratings just one month after its season finale.

The popular animated comedy has been a success for weeks and continues to be a standout show. It’s also performing well internationally, currently ranking sixth worldwide on Paramount+ as of Landman.

The show is currently very popular on SkyShowtime in Europe, and it’s also performing well on demand in the U.S., ranking fourth on Amazon and ninth on the Apple TV store.

Landman Returns for Season 3

Given the success of Landman on Paramount+, the streaming service quickly decided to renew it for a third season in December. While a premiere date hasn’t been announced, it’s expected to return sometime this year.

Production of the new season began much later than before. The first season started filming in February 2024, while the second season began in March 2025.

Christian Wallace, a co-creator of the show, explained to The Hollywood Reporter that filming will take place throughout the Texas summer. While they’re starting a bit later than in previous seasons, the main concern is the intense heat. Once production begins, it will be a fast-paced process, and temperatures will continue to rise. Though challenging for everyone involved, this will allow Landman to realistically depict the difficult conditions landmen actually face on the job.

Critics generally liked the show, though the second season received more negative feedback. Overall, the show has an 80% approval rating, and Season 2 earned a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 83%, which is a bit better than the 78% score of the first season.

Viewers generally liked the first season of the show, giving it a 66% approval rating. However, the second season received a much lower score of 46%, and many criticized how it depicted female characters.
