Kelly Osbourne pens heartfelt post about ‘enduring grief’ seven months after her father Ozzy’s death

Kelly Osbourne recently shared a touching message about grief, describing it as ‘the quiet weight you learn to carry.’

Last July, the media personality’s father, Ozzy, sadly passed away at his home in Buckinghamshire from heart failure. He was 76 years old.

Kelly, 41, shared a thoughtful message on Instagram on Friday. She wrote that some grief doesn’t simply disappear; it evolves into a constant, subtle sadness that you learn to live with, becoming a part of everyday life.

For me, truly getting through something doesn’t mean forgetting it ever happened. It’s about discovering the inner strength to keep living, to keep loving, and to keep moving forward, even while carrying a piece of what you’ve lost with you always. It means making space for the memory, not erasing it.

When you’re overwhelmed by grief that feels never-ending and completely devastating, getting through it isn’t about overcoming the pain. It’s simply about finding the strength to live with it.

It’s about finding the strength to say, “I’m still here,” even when you feel completely broken and like giving up, acknowledging the pain while affirming your continued existence.

This follows a touching post from Kelly Osbourne’s mother, Sharon, marking her first Valentine’s Day since the loss of her husband, Ozzy.

Seven months after the death of the Black Sabbath singer, his wife of 40 years fondly remembered him as her one true love.

Sharon shared a touching photo on Instagram of her and her partner holding hands, with the caption ‘Forever Valentine’ and an infinity symbol.

Earlier this month, Sharon attended Universal Music Group’s Grammy Awards afterparty with her children, Jack and Kelly. She had become emotional during the ceremony itself, while watching a tribute to Ozzy.

The family showed up at the afterparty following the moving tribute to the rock star at the Grammys, which had clearly touched them deeply.

The tribute to him included a powerful performance of his iconic Black Sabbath song, ‘War Pigs,’ featuring Post Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith, and Andrew Watt.

Standing in the audience, the Osbourne family couldn’t hold back tears as the music swelled.

Kelly looked deeply upset, and Sharon was wiping away tears beside her. Jack, meanwhile, stared straight ahead, clearly struggling to stay calm.

You could really feel the sadness from all three of them – their faces just showed how deeply affected they were by the tribute. It was actually quite moving. I will say, Kelly did mention she’d been preparing herself emotionally even while walking the red carpet, which I think speaks to her strength and professionalism.

She shared on the Grammy’s red carpet livestream that she couldn’t put her feelings into words.

Honestly, seeing everyone finally recognize how amazing he is… it just gets me right here. It’s like, he deserves all this love and support, and to see his friends and the whole community showering him with it? I’m already tearing up just thinking about it. It’s going to be so emotional, I can feel it!

Before the event, Kelly shared that losing her father was the most difficult experience of her life. She also talked about the little things she does every day to remember him.

Lindsay was supported by her fiancé, Sid Wilson, and their three-year-old son, Sidney, at the event. She told PEOPLE that she wasn’t pretending to be okay, because it was the most difficult experience of her life.

I’m so happy to have my partner, our beautiful baby, and my incredibly close family. We’ve always been tight-knit, but we’ve grown even closer recently.

It’s common for people to put on a brave face and say they’re doing well, even months after losing someone they care about. But the truth is, they’re likely still struggling.

Kelly shared how she honors Ozzy’s memory by always lighting a candle and leaving an empty seat at her table. She also wears a special locket, remembering him as ‘one of the greatest men to ever live’.

She explained that she keeps a picture of her husband hidden under her dress. Their child opens it and kisses it daily, saying hello to their father. She also believes that whenever she sees 11:11 on the clock, it’s a sign from him.
