This star of the stage and screen was spotted on a rare outing in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The 92-year-old actress looked chic and comfortable while out running errands in a warm winter outfit.
This performer is best known today for her long stint on General Hospital later in her career.
She began her acting career in the 1950s, appearing in memorable films alongside stars like John Wayne and William Holden. In the 1960s, she became known for her roles in popular crime movies directed by the highly respected filmmaker Samuel Fuller.
After starting her career in films, this performer moved to Broadway where she found great success. She then transitioned to television, becoming a popular actress and winning two Emmy Awards.
The performer is the actress Constance Towers.
Towers was photographed in Los Angeles wearing a lot of layers. She had on a large brown leather jacket over a dark sweater and a cream-colored puffer vest.
She also carried what appeared to be a thicker puffer coat in her arms.
The actress looked gorgeous in a fashionable outfit featuring a stylish coat, cream-colored pants, and modern white sneakers.
While out on her own, she was seen walking through a parking lot with several shopping bags and her purse.
I absolutely adore watching her! She’s a true icon, and even just stepping out, she’s effortlessly stylish. The other day, I saw her with a beautiful silk scarf tied around her neck, and she had this amazing, fresh hairstyle – a perfect blowout. And those red sunglasses? Seriously chic! She always looks incredible.
The two-time Emmy nominee first rose to fame with several major movie roles in the 1950s.
She later transitioned to theater and also played notable roles on television.
Francia Towers appeared in several Broadway shows throughout the 1970s and is best known for her role in the stage production of The King and I.
She’s best known for playing the villain Helena Cassadine on General Hospital, a role she’s held since 1997.
Scouts discovered Towers when she was just in first grade, and she began working in radio plays at studios throughout the Pacific Northwest.
She eventually relocated to New York City with her family and went on to study at both the Juilliard School and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
She began her acting career with a small role in the film Bring Your Smile Along, and later starred in Over-Exposed, directed by Lewis Seiler.
She also worked with director John Ford for both The Horse Soldiers and Sergeant Rutledge.
Some of her other memorable roles include Shock Corridor, The Naked Kiss and Fate Is the Hunter.
Towers also appeared in episodes of popular TV shows like Mike Hammer, The Outer Limits, and Perry Mason.
She began acting in theater in her thirties and first appeared on Broadway in 1965, starring as Anya in the play of the same name.
The actress was married to Eugene McGrath from 1959 to 1966.
Oh, and then she found real love with John Gavin! They got married in 1974, and it was actually his second marriage too – it was just meant to be, you know? They were together for forty-four amazing years, which is just…everything. It broke my heart when he passed away in 2018, but at least they had so much time together. They were perfect for each other!
Over the years, my husband and I were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Cristina and Maria Gavin. They’ve truly brought so much joy to our lives and shaped our family into what it is today.
