Many predict One Battle After Another will win Best Picture at the Oscars this year, and it’s received a total of 13 nominations. However, it will have strong competition from other films like Sinners, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, and Frankenstein in several categories.
If you missed seeing Paul Thomas Anderson’s newest film in theaters when it came out in late September 2025, it’s worth watching now to decide if you think it’s worthy of the Best Picture Oscar.
Good news for anyone wanting to check out One Battle After Another! I can watch it from home – it’s available to buy or rent on Prime Video and AppleTV, both here in the UK and over in the US. Looks like those are the main places to grab it digitally.

While the movie isn’t available to buy on disc in the UK just yet, you can pre-order One Battle After Another on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K. It will be released on Monday, January 26th – so the wait is almost over!
So, I’m trying to figure out where I can stream this movie instead of buying it, and the news is a bit of a mixed bag, unfortunately.

You can currently stream One Battle After Another on HBO Max in the US. It became available on the service just before Christmas. If you don’t already have a subscription, HBO Max plans start at $10.99 a month.
HBO Max isn’t launching in the UK until March 2026. Once it does, the show One Battle After Another might be available to stream there, but it could also be released on Sky Cinema first, meaning we may have to wait longer to watch it.
Warner Bros. films usually become available on Sky Cinema and NOW (with a Cinema membership) about eight months after they’re released in theaters. This means we can expect to see One Battle After Another on Sky Cinema around May 2026, unless it’s included in the initial lineup when HBO Max launches in the UK.
Currently, the only way to watch it before the Oscars on March 15th is to purchase or rent it.
One Battle After Another is available to buy or rent from Prime Video, AppleTV and more in the UK.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can purchase ‘Dolly at 80’ at newsagents or online for only £8.99.
