James Gunn has clarified that reports of a canceled DCU HBO series are false. Back in January 2023, Gunn revealed the first wave of projects for the DCU, calling it “Chapter One – Gods and Monsters.” While shows and movies like Superman, Lanterns, Supergirl, and Creature Commandos are moving forward, others such as The Brave and the Bold, The Authority, and Swamp Thing are still in the early stages of development. Interestingly, new titles like Clayface have also been added to the lineup.
James Gunn recently addressed rumors about the future of the upcoming series Paradise Lost. The show, a Game of Thronesstyle prequel focusing on the Amazons before Wonder Woman’s birth, was reportedly canceled after three years with no updates. However, Gunn confirmed on Threads that Paradise Lost* is still in development, expressing his surprise at the inaccurate reports circulating online and stating he was unaware of the claims.
This is a developing story.
