Hilary Duff had an embarrassing but funny moment on Friday while learning about British culture. She mistakenly made a suggestive comment about the discount store, Poundland, in a clip that quickly circulated.
The singer recently gave an interview in a private pub – the Yeoman Warders Club inside the Tower of London – while preparing for her upcoming Lucky Me UK tour.
Jordan North from Capital FM helped her out after she made a mistake, sharing his knowledge about Britain.
He said: I’ll recommend some spots whilst you’re on tour here. We have Wetherspoons…’
Confused, Hilary asked: ‘Weather or wet her spoons? Still not quite sure exactly what you said.’
Jordan explained that it’s a pub with great prices. People often just call it ‘Spoons,’ and you can ask for directions by simply saying, ‘Where’s the nearest Spoons?’
You and the team can grab some fish and chips there. How about Aldi? It’s a supermarket where you can do your grocery shopping.
Hilary said: ‘Yeah. I drove down I drove up past a pound town. Is that what it’s called?
Jordan burst into laughter and quickly corrected himself. “No, no, not ‘Pound Town’ – Poundland! Oh my gosh, those are totally different things!”
‘Honestly, it works, doesn’t it? Pound Town’s such a better name,’ she joked.
Hilary is hitting the road for the newly announced, 47-date The Lucky Me Tour.
The tour, starting June 22nd in West Palm Beach, Florida, will take the former Disney Channel star to seven different countries, with the final show scheduled for February 12, 2027, in Mexico City.
Hillary’s concert will begin with performances by three female artists: La Roux, an English synth-pop band, and Canadian singers Lauren Spencer Smith and Jade LeMac.
She launched her ‘The Lucky Me Tour’ with a video showing her playfully searching through her clothes, ultimately choosing a comfortable white faux fur coat.
The singer shared on Instagram how excited they are to be performing again, saying, ‘The tour name says it all – I feel incredibly lucky to be back on stage in front of you all! I can’t wait to see you on the Lucky Me Tour!’
This is the singer’s first world tour in over fifteen years, following her 40-city Dignity Tour in 2007 and 2008 which promoted her fourth album.
Hillary’s exclusive early access sale starts February 19th at 10am for customers in North America. If you’re in the United Kingdom or Ireland, the sale begins a bit earlier, on February 17th at 10am. Be sure to sign up on Monday to get access!
For Australia and New Zealand, the artist presale begins February 17 at noon.
Fans with American Express, Citi, Mastercard, or Westpac New Zealand Mastercard cards, as well as members of Verizon, Vodafone, and Westfield, will have access to additional presale tickets.
Following the successful run of her sold-out shows at the Voltaire in The Venetian Resort (February 13-15 and May 22-24), Britney Spears is hitting the road with The Lucky Me Tour.
