The team-up between SNK and Capcom brings a stronger Street Fighter 6 feel to FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, which fans are enjoying. However, many are hoping to see even more collaboration in the future.
As a long-time fighting game fan, I was so hyped to see characters crossing over between FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves and Street Fighter 6! It was amazing to finally play as Mai and Terry in SF6. And to top it off, we got to use Ken and Chun-Li in FATAL FURY! It’s a dream come true for fans like me.
Okay, so this collab is getting seriously cool! They’re adding new costumes and story stuff to City of the Wolves, which is awesome. SNK dropped a trailer out of nowhere, and the community’s already digging up all sorts of interesting details – it’s a frenzy!
Metro City stage in FATAL FURY CotW
The new trailer for FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves shows off a stage that looks very similar to a location from Street Fighter 6 – specifically, an outdoor area close to Luke’s training dojo in Metro City.
I was looking at the game’s backgrounds and spotted a picture of Manon! It got me thinking… could SNK add her as a playable character in FATAL FURY? That would be amazing!
Street Fighter costumes for FATAL FURY characters
Two characters in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves receive their Street Fighter 6 costumes.
- Rock looks like Luke.
- Preecha gets the costume of Juri.
A new story chapter: SF6 in Episodes of South Town (EOST)
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves’ single-player story is continuing with a new episode. The unfolding events are best experienced by playing the game. The latest trailer strongly implies that JP from Street Fighter 6 has used dark magic to corrupt Terry Bogard, turning him into the final boss, Kage Terry.
Yes, you spotted that right: Kage Terry uses the signature Akuma move, Raging Demon.
If you somehow forgot a helpful shortcut to Raging Demon, this epic video will remind you of it.
The fighting game Fatal Fury: EOST includes opponents originally found in the World Tour mode of Street Fighter 6, like tough gangsters and surprisingly, refrigerators.
When you play through the story mode in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, you can unlock skills similar to those in Street Fighter 6. The game’s trailer showed off a couple of these, including moves that appear to be based on the Drive System – specifically, Rush and Impact.
Final Fight Carlos in FATAL FURY CotW
If you want to see more from the trailer, pay attention to who Tezoc and Terry are fighting in the EOST segment. SNK revealed Carlos Miyamoto, a character from Capcom’s classic Final Fight series, while showcasing Street Fighter 6 moves.
As soon as the news dropped, everyone in the gaming community went wild with theories about whether Carlos would be one of the secret characters in FATAL FURY City of the Wolves Season 2. It was all anyone could talk about!
When does this Street Fighter collaboration come to FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves?
On February 26th, a free update will be available for FATAL FURY City of the Wolves, adding costumes and story content inspired by Street Fighter 6.
Interestingly, this date also marks the arrival of a new playable character in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves. Nightmare Geese will be available on February 26th.
Fighting game fans are really hoping for a few things: Mai’s classic outfit, and for Kage Terry to be a playable character. The biggest request, though, is for a new installment in the SNK vs Capcom series – some fans are even convinced it’s already in the works! Hopefully, their enthusiasm will help make it happen.
