Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe say they’ve only rehearsed TWICE for their roles as star-crossed lovers in Romeo And Juliet – two weeks before Shakespeare tragedy returns to the West End

Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe, who are starring as Romeo and Juliet in a new West End play, admit they haven’t had much time to rehearse before their first performance.

I’m so excited! The cast is going to be performing at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London starting March 16th. And it’s especially wonderful to see Jessie Buckley continuing to work with Shakespeare – she was amazing in Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, and I can’t wait to see her bring another role to life on stage.

Winona Ryder is starting her run in a West End play soon, following her popular role in the Netflix hit, Stranger Things, which made her a well-known actress.

The show’s fifth and final season premiered in December to a range of opinions. Sadie Sink, 23, returned as her character Max Mayfield, a rebellious skater, for the last time.

She told British Vogue she felt a huge sense of relief now that the project was finished, and was excited to finally share it with others. She also admitted she was so overwhelmed that she hadn’t fully processed its completion.

She’s preparing to spend three months in London with her co-star, Jupe, who is 20. Together, they’ll be playing the roles of tragic lovers in a new adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous play.

The actors say they haven’t quite found their rhythm yet, as they’ve only had two rehearsals together.

Sink mentioned they had a chemistry read that lasted about an hour, and that was only the second time they’d met.

Jupe explained they did a complete photoshoot, pointing to the promotional posters now displayed in London’s tube stations.

Sydney Sink, who plays the young and innocent Juliet Capulet in Shakespeare’s play, says this role is her most challenging yet. She decided to accept it after a four-hour discussion with the director, Robert Icke.

‘It was as if a spark was lit,’ she recalled. ‘You can only play her for so long.’

This will be a new experience for Sink, but her co-star has performed Shakespeare before. He previously appeared in ‘Hamnet’ with Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley – playing Hamlet himself!

I was really touched by Jacobi’s performance as Shakespeare’s son. It’s heartbreaking to see him portray that young boy, and the film beautifully shows how Shakespeare channeled his grief over his son’s death into what would become his most famous work. It’s a really powerful connection, and Jacobi plays it with such sensitivity.

Jupe said he thought Jacobi would be good, but he was surprised by just how excellent and important the film turned out to be.

I’m jokingly trying to figure out who didn’t get emotional watching ‘Hamnet’ – I mean, if you didn’t cry, that’s a little concerning!

The movie later won the Golden Globe for Best Dramatic Motion Picture, but Jupe was so sure it would lose that he actually called an Uber before the winner was announced!

He explained that none of them thought they had a chance of winning. But then they actually won, and his immediate reaction was shock – he said he just kept thinking, “Oh no!” and everyone told him he needed to go up on stage.
