Qiddiya City and RTS have officially purchased Evo, the popular fighting game tournament, from NODWIN Gaming.
The Evolution Championship Series (Evo), a major fighting game tournament, is now fully owned by RTS, which is backed by Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia. After changing ownership a few times recently, Evo is now completely under the control of RTS and Qiddiya.
Qiddiya, RTS now owns Evo
Evo, the popular fighting game tournament organizer, has been purchased by Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) and RTS, ending its ownership under NODWIN Gaming, according to a recent announcement.
This announcement follows QIC’s purchase of Evo organizer RTS last September. Previously, NODWIN Gaming received its share of Evo from Sony when the company decided to withdraw its involvement in August 2025.
Qiddiya City is heavily investing in gaming and esports as key features of its development, going so far as to create a dedicated district for the industry. According to a recent announcement, this demonstrates Qiddiya’s commitment to building a destination centered around gaming, esports, and community-based play.
Evo is a major international gaming event known for its strong community, competitive spirit, and creative energy. With support from RTS and Qiddiya City, we’re dedicated to helping Evo grow while honoring its history and continuing its important place in the fighting game world. We’re investing in the future of gaming and ensuring Evo remains a unique and special event.
Muhannad AlDawood, Chief Strategy Officer, Qiddiya Investment Company
Evo’s new owners have promised to maintain everything the fighting game community loves about the event, continuing to prioritize players, fans, and publishers. Current leadership, including RTS CEO and co-founder Stuart Saw, will stay in place.
NODWIN Gaming will continue to partner with Evo, probably handling all of the event’s production. In 2026, Evo tournaments are planned for Tokyo, Las Vegas, and Nice.
This collaboration could also lead to more fighting game competitions at other events connected to Qiddiya, including the Esports World Cup.
