MAFS Bec reveals her regret for not standing up for Stella during explosive dinner party: ‘Whoever sat there quiet owes her an apology’

Bec Zacharia, from Married At First Sight, has said she wishes she’d supported Stella Mickunaite more during the dramatic dinner party on Wednesday.

Stella, age 32, was attacked by brides Brook Crompton and Gia Fleur in a series of harsh encounters. Alissa Fay was also affected by the attacks.

Bec ended up supporting Brook and Gia, especially when they confronted Alissa.

Bec told Daily Mail she feels remorseful about what she did, and found rewatching the dinner party footage ‘difficult and distressing’.

‘I have such huge disappointment in myself, because I don’t act this way,’ she said.

‘The fact that I was even sitting on that side of the table was atrocious.’

Bec added, ‘We can’t stand by and let these women be bullied – we need to support them.’

‘And I became one for a night and it’s not okay. I need to take a long hard look at myself.’

She explained that she’d been holding a grudge against Alissa ever since Gia and her husband, Scott McCristal, told her Alissa had called their relationship ‘fake’.

In spite of the alleged barb, Bec said that she wishes she had acted differently in the moment.

She explained that she didn’t intervene when Stella was being treated unfairly, nor did she speak to Alissa privately. She regretted staying silent and letting the situation unfold, admitting it was wrong of her to do so.

‘I should have practiced what I preached so I’m just as guilty as the rest of them.’

In fact, Bec went one further, saying that anyone who did not speak up was also culpable.

She added that anyone who remained silent also needs to apologize to Stella and Alissa, explaining that everyone present was equally at fault for not intervening.

Bec admitted that she had already apologised to Alissa and was quick to offer another to Stella.

‘I apologised to Stella publicly for not standing up for her,’ she said.

‘I’ve apologised profusely multiple times to Alissa – she was at my birthday party on the weekend.

I didn’t hit Stella, but I believe I, along with everyone else present, should apologize to her for not speaking up when she needed us to.

Bec also responded to Gia’s statements after the dinner party, where Gia said the show’s producers intentionally created the conflict and that she was portrayed unfairly in the editing.

‘This is not an edit,’ Bec said. 

‘What happened is what happened. No producer can make you go in there and scream at people.

Bec strongly denied claims that producers were manipulating the situation, calling them ‘absolute nonsense.’ She believes the person in question needs to take responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming others.

She strongly disagreed with Gia’s claim that Stella had been acting flirtatious with the other married participants on the show.

Stella has always maintained appropriate boundaries with everyone’s spouses, and suggesting otherwise is really hurtful and unfair, she explained.

‘It’s categorically untrue and that narrative is entirely fabricated.’

Aware that people might see her as the ‘bad guy’, Bec asked viewers to be understanding.

‘I’m hated by everyone it seems,’ she said. 

I received a huge wave of hateful messages overnight – more than there are comments on most Instagram posts. But I’m used to it and don’t let it bother me.

I understand I deserve the consequences, but I’m also human and everyone slips up sometimes. I’m hoping for a little understanding.

This happened after Brook began making harsh and critical comments, and Stella quietly listened through the insults on Wednesday night.

Brook angrily confronted the person, saying they needed to understand what was happening. She explained she was defending herself because she saw through their attempts to appear intelligent, dismissing them as simply foolish.

‘You’re very abrasive. And what you’ve been all night is barking at other women,’ Stella said.

Gia, a devoted fan of Brook, responded with a harsh insult, telling them to ‘go back in your kennel’ and using the dismissive term ‘babe’.

After Brook harshly called her names, Stella tried to apologize and leave peacefully.

Brook, however, chose the moment to continue her ad hominem attacks.

Brook advised the person to remove the stripper boots they were wearing, adding that if they were going to purchase such boots, they should opt for genuine lambskin instead of imitation leather.

Brook acted immaturely during a disagreement with fellow bride Alissa, 33, telling her to be quiet and calling her names after Alissa asked her to calm down.

This emboldened Gia and Bec to seize the opportunity to gang up on Alissa.

‘You wonder why everyone hates you, babe, that’s why,’ Gia said, to which Bec excitedly agreed.
