A famous Australian actress was spotted filming in Clovelly, and she looked very different from how people usually see her.
Georgie Parker, famous for playing Roo Stewart on the show Home and Away, was seen filming her latest project, a mini-series called Dalliance, on Thursday.
The 61-year-old, who has won two Gold Logie awards, seemed completely comfortable and happy while taking a break from filming near the water.
The singer from All Saints had her long brown hair down and wore a turquoise jacket over a black swimsuit.
Without makeup, the actress swam in the water, briefly diving in with a pair of goggles while boom microphones hovered above her.
Walking barefoot on set, Georgie was also seen engrossed in conversation with a fellow crew member.
This happened over a year after Georgie returned to work following recovery from her second hip replacement surgery in six years.
In June 2024, she posted pictures of her hospital recovery and showed herself using crutches as she shared updates on how she was doing after her surgery.
At the time, she explained she was three weeks into her rehabilitation.
Georgie, known for her roles in shows like A Country Practice and Play School, expressed her desire to return to work and thanked her family for their unwavering support.
‘I’ve been busy. Finishing a play and then straight into another theatre (get it) for a new hip,’ she penned.
This is my second time needing surgery in six years, and thankfully I was able to see the same amazing surgeon and team again. I really dislike the medication, but I actually enjoy the rehabilitation process.
It’s been three weeks since my surgery, and I’m recovering nicely. I’ve been so grateful for the amazing support from my family, work, and friends.
‘Practising patience now while I heal… so I can get back to work baby.’
Georgie’s hip issues stem from scoliosis, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 13.
The actress first revealed she had the condition after having hip replacement surgery in 2018.
As everyone’s scoliosis is unique, like a fingerprint, hers specifically affects her torso and has resulted in a three-inch loss of height, she explained to Body+Soul in 2020.
She shared with Now To Love in 2017 that managing the pain and stiffness from her condition was a lot of work, but she was ready to face it.
It affects my daily life, so I focus on staying in shape to maintain my back’s functionality.
Honestly, even with my scoliosis, I don’t see it as something to be bitter about. It’s actually made me incredibly grateful. It’s a big thing, sure, but it hasn’t stopped me from living the life I want – and that’s everything to me. I feel so lucky to still be able to do pretty much anything I set my mind to, despite it all!
