Amanda Seyfried looked stunning in a sparkly dress at the premiere of “The Testament Of Ann Lee” at the Berlin International Film Festival on Thursday.
The 40-year-old actress turned heads in a stunning nude dress featuring a sheer, flowing skirt and sparkling accents down the front.
Amanda curled her blonde hair and added a delicate silver necklace. She finished the look with a pair of heels.
She was accompanied on the red carpet by her co-star, Viola Prettejohn, who looked stunning in a black bralette and skirt.
The actress, known for her role in The Crown, showed off her legs in a dress with a high slit and wore tall platform heels.
Amanda and Viola happily posed for pictures with director Mona Fastvold at the glamorous premiere in Germany.
Daniel Blumberg chose a sharp look, wearing a black suit, a slim black tie, a navy shirt, and a matching baseball cap.
This follows Amanda’s statement that an Oscar isn’t a priority, questioning who even remembers past winners after she felt she was unfairly overlooked at the Golden Globes.
Amanda Seyfried, known for her role in Mamma Mia!, was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2021 Academy Awards for her performance in the film Mank.
This year, her performance in “The Testament of Ann Lee” earned her nominations at both the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, potentially paving the way for an Oscar nomination.
But Amanda has now insisted she doesn’t need the accolade to sustain a successful career.
Amanda told The New Yorker that an Oscar nomination is what really launches your career, questioning whether people can even recall past winners: ‘Can you name the winners from the last ten years?’
She wondered if she needed it soon, perhaps in a week or two, but quickly dismissed the thought. While it would be wonderful to have, she realized it wasn’t actually necessary.
Amanda caused a stir at the Golden Globes earlier this year when she appeared uninterested after losing both Best Actress awards she was nominated for.
The actress seemed genuinely upset when Rose Byrne, from “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture instead of her.
In a clip that quickly spread online, the Emmy-winning actor briefly made a face of discomfort before quickly smiling and applauding.
After the event, Amanda’s supporters said she acted that way because she felt she had no chance of winning, and that she deserved to be recognized for her work.
The actress has sparked controversy and a backlash from many Americans after publicly sharing her political opinions, leading to calls for a boycott of her films and shows.
Some people are trying to ‘cancel’ Amanda, which is ironic considering she recently appeared in the movie The Housemaid alongside Sydney Sweeney, who has also faced criticism for her political views.
As a lifestyle commentator, I remember the controversy last year surrounding Amanda’s comments about Charlie Kirk. She called him ‘hateful’ just days after his tragic death on September 10th. He was only 31 and passed away during one of his well-known debates at Utah Valley University, and her timing really sparked a lot of debate and criticism.
The actress not only called him ‘hateful’ in a comment on a post about his death, but she also shared a meme suggesting people had anticipated it.
The meme said, ‘If you welcome harmful behavior, don’t be surprised when it causes problems.’
‘We’re forgetting the nuance of humanity,’ she later wrote in a text post on her Instagram.
As someone who cares deeply about social justice, I’m furious when I see sexism or racism, but I was also completely horrified to hear about the attack on Charlie Kirk. It was a truly awful act, and frankly, no one deserves to go through something like that – the level of violence was just shocking.
She went on to say that the nation is suffering from too many unnecessary and violent deaths and shootings, and asked if everyone could at least agree on that point.
She explained she didn’t want to make the situation worse, but felt it was important to clarify something that had been misrepresented, even if she understood how it happened.
‘Spirited discourse- isn’t that what we should be having?’
Even though Charlie’s fans were upset, Amanda didn’t offer an apology for her remark when asked about it two months later.
She firmly stated she wouldn’t apologize for her comment. She explained that it was a straightforward observation based on real events, video footage, and direct quotes.
‘What I said was pretty damn factual, and I’m free to have an opinion, of course.’
Amanda added that the statement she posted after the blowback allowed her to get her ‘voice back’.
She felt relieved to have Instagram as an outlet. It allowed her to explain things and regain control of her own narrative, something she felt had been taken from her and twisted by others – which she acknowledged is a common occurrence.
The actress from Mean Girls also pointed out that talking about politics needs a careful approach, explaining she has to stay calm and focused when discussing controversial topics.
