Okay, so it’s been six years since the last Toy Story movie made me tear up, but Pixar just dropped a new trailer for Toy Story 5 and I’m already hyped! It looks like Woody and Buzz are back together, and this time they’re on a mission to rescue all the toys from some kind of tech-related trouble. You can check out the trailer above – seriously, go watch it!
The new movie continues the story of the original Toy Story characters, following the 2022 film Lightyear, which explored Buzz Lightyear’s backstory. This film returns to the adventures of Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys after that separate story.
When Bonnie receives a new, frog-shaped tablet named Lilypad – which is voiced by Greta Lee from the movie Past Lives – Jessie and the other toys worry that they might be replaced and forgotten.

Teaming up with Woody, now sporting a poncho and back from his adventure in Toy Story 4 to help lost toys, and Buzz Lightyear along with his futuristic copies, the Multi-Buzz, the group sets out to bring back the joy of traditional, non-digital play.
The video shows Woody and Buzz happily reuniting with a handshake and a hug. Buzz, with a serious expression, says, “It’s been too long, cowboy.”

This calm moment doesn’t last. Soon, Woody and Buzz are arguing just like they did in the first Toy Story movie, when Buzz was first introduced and they were getting to know each other.
Mr. Potatohead chuckled, pleased to see the pair playfully bickering once more, all while the song ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ played softly.
The latest Toy Story movie boasts an impressive voice cast, including both returning favorites and fresh faces.
I’m so excited to hear so many familiar faces are coming back! Tony Hale is perfect as Forky, and I loved Karen Beverly, voiced by Melissa Villaseñor. Of course, Annie Potts is Bo Peep, and Bonnie Hunt as Dolly is always great. Plus, Kristen Schaal is hilarious as Trixie the triceratops, and Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom? Seriously, how cool is that?!
John Ratzenberger and Wallace Shawn return as the voices of Hamm and Rex, and Blake Clark once again voices Slinky Dog.

Following the passing of Carl Weathers in 2024, Ernie Hudson, known for his role in Ghostbusters, has taken over the part of Combat Carl. The voices of Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead have also been recast, with Jeff Bergman and Anna Vocino now stepping in to replace the late Don Rickles and Estelle Harris.
In Toy Story 5, a new actor, John Hopkins, will be voicing the character of Mr. Pricklepants. Timothy Dalton and Robin Atkin Downes previously provided the voice for the hedgehog.
The new Toy Story film introduces several new characters voiced by Scarlett Spears as Bonnie, Craig Robinson as Atlas the GPS hippo, Shelby Rabara as Snappy the energetic camera, Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze, Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, and Matty Matheson as Dr. Nutcase, a toy who’s afraid of technology.
Toy Story 5 releases in cinemas on 19 June.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour magazine dedicated to Taylor Swift, is now available! You can find it in newsagents or order it online for only £8.99. This special edition has 100 pages!
