Channing Tatum now has a lasting mark from the shoulder surgery he recently had.
On Wednesday, Tatum, 45, shared a selfie showing the unmissable scar grazing his right shoulder.
Okay, so Tatum actually posted about his new tattoo, and honestly, he was just as shocked as I was at how BIG it turned out! But the best part? He says it’s getting stronger every single day, which… like, YES! I’m so relieved and obsessed, it’s perfect!
I admit it’s my fault for not checking beforehand. I assumed it would just be a couple of small punctures. It looks like I was wrong, haha. But it doesn’t really matter – I actually like scars, and it’s healing better every day, so thank you, doctor.
I also get a little nervous going through airport security, always wondering if my shoulder implant will set off the alarm.
Though the actor is usually known for his incredible physique and health, the injury showed everyone that even he is human.
Tatum had surgery earlier this month to fix a separated shoulder and has been sharing updates with his fans about his recovery.
He posted a picture of himself in the hospital, lying in bed and wearing a gown, just before going into surgery.
He shared a post on February 3rd with the caption, ‘Just another day, another tough challenge. But I’m ready to tackle it!’
Tatum showed X-rays of his shoulder injury, including a graphic image of the screw doctors used during surgery.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the news about the Magic Mike star’s recent procedure, and while he hasn’t shared the exact cause, injuries like his often happen after some kind of impact or trauma. It’s a reminder that accidents can happen, and recovery takes time.
According to Cleveland Clinic, a shoulder separation occurs when ligaments around the AC joint – where your collarbone and shoulder blade connect – are torn or stretched, usually due to a fall or impact.
Surgery may be needed in those suffering from severe cases, the publication adds.
Tatum was injured on the set of Avengers: Doomsday in London last year, and the injury limited his ability to fully participate in filming.
It’s not certain if that injury required his shoulder surgery, but he described the setback as life-changing in a September interview with Variety.
The publication observed that Tatum had a noticeable limp when he arrived for the interview. He explained that the injury meant he had to reduce his involvement for the rest of the filming process.
I’m so excited! The director let slip that they have a lot more action sequences planned, and even a huge showdown with Doctor Doom – Robert Downey Jr. is going to be amazing as him, I just know it!
Tatum was taking pain medication during the conversation, but chose not to take it before the interview itself. He also planned to start serious physical therapy later on.
Although Tatum was in sharp pain, he was more worried about how the injury would affect his life overall.
He explained that the immediate pain wasn’t the worst part. What really bothered him was the realization that he couldn’t undo what had happened, and that he now had a clear idea of what the next six months would hold.
He admitted he doesn’t like the process of aging. ‘I feel like I’m still 30 – or even 26, if I’m being truthful,’ he said.
