Samara Weaving will soon star in the horror sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and we’re getting a first look at another one of her upcoming films. The trailer for Over Your Dead Body has just been released, offering a glimpse of the wild ride before its debut at SXSW. You can watch the trailer above.
The comedy thriller, directed by Jorma Taccone of Lonely Island, centers on a couple with a troubled relationship (played by Weaving and Jason Segel). They retreat to a secluded cabin, each secretly intending to murder the other, all under the guise of trying to fix things.
Okay, so things definitely don’t go as expected! From the trailer, it looks like everything hits the fan at that cabin, and both characters are suddenly in a desperate fight for survival. I’m seriously on the edge of my seat – do you think they’ll both make it out alive?

Scott Shooman, head of Independent Film Group, announced they’re excited to work with Jorma Taccone – whom he calls a consistently funny and innovative comedic talent – along with 87North, XYZ, and Resolute Films on the upcoming movie, Over Your Dead Body. Independent Film Group will distribute the film in the US.
This movie is a wild, funny, and action-packed comedy, featuring a fantastic cast – everything you need for a great time at the theater.

If the story of Over Your Dead Body seems like something you’ve seen before, that’s likely because it’s similar to the Nordic comedy horror-thriller The Trip, which came out on Netflix in October 2021.
This new film is a remake of the original, and while Tommy Wirkola—who directed the first movie—was initially slated to direct, Mark Taccone ultimately took on the director’s role. Wirkola remained involved as an executive producer.
Critics have lauded The Trip as a creative and engaging film. The Post NZ called it “inventive cinema,” while Common Sense Media highlighted its many surprising and enjoyable plot twists.
Currently, there’s no confirmed UK release date for the film Over Your Dead Body. It will premiere at SXSW before opening in US cinemas on April 24th.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
