Austin Butler reunites with bedazzled Baz Luhrmann at EPi Elvis Presley in Concert premiere in LA – four years after working together on music legend’s biopic

Austin Butler and director Baz Luhrmann came together again at the premiere of ‘Epic: Elvis Presley in Concert‘ at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old actor and the 63-year-old director, who previously worked together on the 2022 Elvis biopic where the actor portrayed Elvis Presley, were both at the event.

For the glamorous evening event, Baz chose a dazzling outfit with a sparkly top, wide-leg jeans, and stylish aviator sunglasses. Austin, on the other hand, opted for a more traditional look, wearing a navy double-breasted suit with a simple black t-shirt.

The film’s debut showed a highly praised documentary about Elvis, including previously unseen concert footage from his Las Vegas shows. It will be released in theaters in the US and UK on February 27th, and is a companion piece to his 2022 biographical film.

Austin and Baz happily greeted each other, linked arms, and posed for photos with the many other celebrities on the red carpet.

Jane Seymour looked stunning at the premiere, wearing a shimmering black jumpsuit paired with a vibrant red jacket trimmed with fur.

Dita Von Teese evoked classic Hollywood style with her outfit: a low-cut navy blazer and a skirt that fell to mid-calf.

Tallulah Willis showed off her legs in a short, white dress paired with cute, yellow kitten heels.

Loni Love stunned in leather as she stepped out in a black tasselled dress and leopard print boots.

Allie and Lexi Kaplan brought a cheerful splash of colour to the event, both wearing vibrant pink and blue paisley dresses.

The new documentary showcases rare, previously unreleased concert footage and audio recordings of Elvis Presley performing during his Las Vegas shows near the end of his life.

Elvis Presley quickly became known as the King of Rock and Roll in 1956, thanks to popular songs like Heartbreak Hotel and Hound Dog.

His energetic performances on television sparked a worldwide sensation, transforming him from an ordinary truck driver into a global superstar.

Elvis Presley, who had been a major figure in music, movies, and live performances for twenty years, died at his home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977.

Though he passed away at the age of 42, his music continues to be celebrated. He’s still one of the most successful music artists ever, having sold hundreds of millions of albums around the globe.

Austin Butler admitted that getting into the role of Elvis was so immersive, he struggled to shake off the character after filming. He even became sick with a virus and was confined to bed shortly after production wrapped.

The actor said he ‘lost touch’ with his own personality and didn’t know who he was.

He shared with GQ Magazine that it’s easy to lose sight of your true self, and he experienced this firsthand after finishing the movie ‘Elvis,’ feeling unsure of his own identity.

Austin looks effortlessly stylish on the June cover of GQ, sporting a sophisticated pink suit and a striking blue velvet suit with a teal satin shirt.

In addition to the emotional toll of portraying Elvis, Austin Butler shared that he was confined to bed for a week after becoming sick immediately after filming concluded in March 2021.

Austin explained he had a virus that felt like appendicitis, and it caused him to feel completely exhausted right after finishing filming.

He said: ‘I woke up at four in the morning with excruciating pain, and I was rushed to hospital.’

Even though playing the role was challenging, Austin shared that he still enjoys listening to Elvis, as he’s always been a big fan of the singer.

‘I’ve never loved somebody I’ve never met more than Elvis,’ he added.
