Mia Goth was spotted on Wednesday, marking her first public appearance since news broke about her separation from Shia LaBeouf. The split was revealed shortly after LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans for a fight at a bar.
The 39-year-old actor, known for his role in Transformers, was involved in a fight with several people shortly after midnight while celebrating Mardi Gras.
The Daily Mail was first to report on the shocking events following LaBeouf’s release from a New Orleans jail, beginning with him fleeing the premises.
Shia and Mia ended their nine-year marriage last year, and we have the exclusive details.
Shia LaBeouf has often said Mia helped him through a very difficult time, once explaining in a podcast interview that she gave him hope when he was feeling completely depleted.
This week in Los Angeles, 32-year-old Mia was seen wearing a navy coat and red hat before going for a horseback ride. She looked relaxed and casual.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth for comment.
They began dating in December 2012 after first meeting while filming Nymphomaniac: Vol II, and later got married in Las Vegas in 2016.
The couple had a rocky relationship, including a very heated argument caught on camera in 2015. They eventually separated in 2018.
Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth have filed for divorce, according to a source who spoke to Page Six. The split is reportedly friendly, and they’re keeping the details of the divorce private.
Shia and Mia got back together in 2020, and in 2022, they announced that they were expecting a baby.
The X star gave birth to Isabel in March of that year.
While Shia and Mia were separated, he began dating singer FKA Twigs in 2019.
In December 2020, FKA Twigs publicly accused her former boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf, of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, and of knowingly infecting her with an STD. He has denied all of her claims.
The lawsuit asked for $10 million in compensation, claiming sexual battery, assault, and emotional suffering during the couple’s relationship.
In July, it became known that the two had resolved their legal dispute. The singer asked the court to drop all accusations against LaBeouf, 39, permanently, preventing her from pursuing the case again.
When Twigs and LaBeouf reached a settlement, lawyers for both sides stated the issue had been resolved confidentially.
Shia was arrested on Tuesday after a fight where he reportedly attacked two men.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, the former child actor has been charged with two counts of simple battery, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Jeffrey Damnit, a Mardi Gras attendee, shed more light on what transpired before LaBeouf’s arrest.
LaBeouf was at the Royal Street bar in the French Quarter around 5 PM yesterday, Damnit told TMZ.
Damnit said the actor bumped into him while getting water and then threatened to kick him, saying, ‘You push me and I’ll kick your butt.’
Damnit left the bar, but came back around midnight to find LaBeouf had also been asked to leave.
According to Damnit, LaBeouf attempted to bite a bar manager and insulted him with a curse word while visibly agitated and chattering his teeth.
Shia LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans while seemingly participating in Mardi Gras festivities, reportedly outside a bar.
The police report states that an employee tried to remove Shia LaBeouf from the location, but he responded by punching the employee multiple times with a closed fist.
LaBeouf then left, but came back, ‘acting even more aggressive,’ according to the report.
Okay, so apparently, a bunch of people tried to restrain him, but they eventually just let him go, hoping he’d walk away! Can you believe it? But then, witnesses say he immediately attacked the first person again, hitting them repeatedly with his fists! And then, like it wasn’t enough, he punched someone else right in the nose! It’s just… unbelievable. I’ve followed every case, and this is typical behavior, honestly. He just loses it.
The actor was again held down by at least two men until officers arrived, the police report said.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the celebrity was hospitalized for unspecified injuries and then taken into custody, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Video from the night of the actor’s arrest shows him with a T-shirt pulled over his head, revealing a large tattoo on his back, and a visible injury on his arm. At one point, he was seen sitting in the trunk of a car talking to people who were present. He was also photographed being carried on a stretcher into an ambulance.
This isn’t the star’s first brush with the law.
In June 2014, he was arrested at Studio 54 in New York City for causing a disturbance during a performance of the Broadway show, Cabaret. Reports said he disrupted the show by smoking inside the theatre, shouting at the performers, and using offensive language.
After the incident, he admitted to disorderly behavior and was ordered to attend six months of alcohol rehabilitation as an outpatient.
In 2015, the actor was arrested for public intoxication in Austin, Texas. According to a witness who spoke to TMZ, he appeared to be under the influence and was seen crossing the street illegally in front of police.
In 2017, Shia LaBeouf was arrested following a scuffle at his art exhibit in Queens, which was being livestreamed as a protest against Donald Trump. He was accused of grabbing someone’s scarf and pushing them to the ground, but the charges were later dismissed.
He was arrested once more that year, this time in Savannah, Georgia, for being drunk and disruptive in public. Following the arrest, he completed a rehabilitation program as required by the court.
In 2020, someone in Los Angeles faced legal trouble for minor assault and theft. As a result, they were required to attend therapy, participate in a 12-step program, and regularly prove they were staying sober.
In the same year, singer FKA Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf, whom she dated from 2018 to 2019. She accused him of sexual battery, assault, and causing her emotional distress during their short-lived relationship.
I’ve been following this closely, and what struck me is how he responded. He strongly denied a lot of the accusations, saying they weren’t true. But then, he also said he felt it was important to let the women who came forward share their experiences and that he was willing to take responsibility for his own actions. It felt like a complicated statement, but ultimately, he seemed to be acknowledging some wrongdoing while still defending himself.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always advising people to resolve conflicts peacefully, and it seems that’s exactly what happened in a recent case. The plaintiff ultimately decided to drop the lawsuit for good – meaning she can’t bring those claims back to court later. Both sides confirmed back in July of 2025 that they’d reached a settlement outside of court, which is often the best outcome for everyone involved.
The couple released a statement wishing each other well, expressing hopes for happiness, success, and peace in the years to come.
