Paul McCartney’s new documentary, ‘Man on the Run,’ premiered in London on Wednesday night, and he was joined by many of his celebrity friends at a screening held at the Ham Yard Hotel.
The project documents 83-year-old Paul’s extraordinary life following the breakup of The Beatles.
Sharon, who lost her husband Ozzy last year, was among those supporting the performer, along with Paul Mescal, Gracie Abrams, Noel Gallagher, Cruz Beckham, and Paul’s daughter, Stella.
73-year-old Sharon looked happy and stylish in a black outfit as she posed for a photo with Paul, who affectionately put his arm around her.
Paul Mescal, 30, and his girlfriend, singer Gracie, 26, were seen together at a public event, where Gracie wore a stylish, long black coat. Mescal is set to portray Paul McCartney in the upcoming movie about The Beatles.
Twenty-year-old Cruz attended a special screening with his girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, 30, shortly after celebrating his 21st birthday.
The Traitors winner Stephen Libby was also there with his partner Daniel Quirke.
Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher came to show their support for their friend, and the three of them posed for a photo together.
Twiggy and Leigh Lawson, along with Richard Osman and Ingrid Oliver, were also present at the event.
Just last month, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, and Harris Dickinson excited Beatles fans by releasing the first photos of themselves portraying the band in their upcoming four-part series.
Oh my gosh, you guys, the actors are actually working with Sir Sam Mendes – SIR SAM MENDES! – on four movies! Four! And it’s about them, about how they started out playing in all those Liverpool clubs, and then… well, then they became the biggest band in the world, obviously. It’s going to show everything, their whole unbelievable journey. I’m already losing it just thinking about it!
There’s been debate about whether the actors are right for the roles – Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Florence Pugh as John Lennon, Lewis Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr – but the first photos of them in costume suggest the movie is in good hands.
LIPA, the performing arts school co-founded by Paul McCartney in 1996, has been posting pictures of the actors filming, letting fans get a sneak peek and form their own opinions.
The first photo shows Paul Mescal portraying a young Paul McCartney, with the famous brick walls of Liverpool’s Cavern Club in the background as he looks thoughtfully away from the camera.
In the early 1960s, the band built a following by regularly playing at a local club. It was at this club that Brian Epstein, who later became their manager, saw them perform for the first time – a pivotal moment that would transform their careers.
The first look at Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr shows him in a black and white spotted shirt and a colorful, swirling tie, wearing headphones while seemingly working in a recording studio.
This style became popular with the band’s drummer in the late 1960s, especially during the recording of their famous double album – often called the ‘White Album’ by fans – in 1968.
The actor not only had the same haircut as Ringo Starr’s famous style, but he also looked a lot like the drummer himself.
In other scenes, Quinn portrays Harrison, complete with a beard, during the later years of the band. Meanwhile, Dickinson is dressed as Lennon, sporting his famous denim jacket and round glasses from 1968.
LIPA announced on Instagram that they’ve hidden special postcards advertising the new Beatles films around campus and are challenging students to find them.
After much anticipation, Sony announced the actors for its four upcoming Beatles movies last year. All four films are scheduled to be released in April 2028.
Aimee Lou Wood, known for her role in The White Lotus, will portray Pattie Boyd, the wife of George Harrison. Saoirse Ronan, an Oscar nominee from Ireland, will play Linda McCartney, who inspired many of Paul McCartney’s famous songs.
Anna Sawai, known for her role in the popular series Shogun, will portray Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s wife. Mia McKenna-Bruce, a British actress, will play Maureen Cox, Ringo Starr’s wife.
According to the Daily Mail, the upcoming Beatles biopics are being filmed at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. Production actually started in November, even though there were previous reports saying the project had been cancelled.
