On Wednesday morning, actor Shia LaBeouf posted ‘Free me’ on X, along with an older photo from a party he once held in the South.

Photos published by the Daily Mail show the boxer, known as Fury, enjoying a hamburger and beer with fans while celebrating Mardi Gras.

People reacted with concern to his post, urging him to be safe and look after himself as he explored the Louisiana town alone and without security, especially after a difficult period.

Recent reports, including those from Fox News, consistently show New Orleans as one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. It often has the highest number of homicides per person compared to other cities, contributing to a high crime rate in the state.

Police in New Orleans say Shia LaBeouf allegedly attacked two men during a bar fight.

The actor, age 39, was arrested in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and is now facing two charges of simple battery after a reported fight.

Police provided an update on the incident.

According to a police statement given to the Daily Mail, officers responded to a report of an assault on Royal Street around 12:45 AM on February 17, 2026. Two men reported being assaulted in the 1400 block of the street.

Police say 39-year-old Shia LaBeouf was causing a scene and becoming more aggressive at a business on Royal Street.

An employee tried to remove Shia LaBeouf from the building. After he was outside, LaBeouf reportedly punched the person several times with his fists.

LaBeouf has been accused of assaulting two men in New Orleans.

According to police, several people tried to restrain the suspect, hoping he would leave if they let him go. However, he allegedly hit the first victim again, punching them in the upper body. He then reportedly punched another person in the nose.

Police were called to restrain LaBeouf, and he was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. After being treated and released, he was arrested on two counts of simple battery.

Shia LaBeouf was reportedly involved in an altercation outside a bar in New Orleans’ French Quarter. A video published by TMZ shows him being treated by paramedics after the incident. The cause of the fight is still unknown.

Shia LaBeouf, known for past legal issues and struggles with addiction, came to New Orleans last week to celebrate Mardi Gras.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, he arrived on Thursday. A video also surfaced showing him headbutting someone on a New Orleans street, after which he fell to the ground.
