Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have disabled comments on their Instagram pages as more and more people show support for Brooklyn’s mother, Victoria, who is reportedly upset.
Victoria and Sir David’s oldest son, aged 51 and 50 respectively, publicly criticized his parents on Instagram Monday night.
In a six-page statement, Brooklyn alleged that those close to Nicola, 30, deliberately attempted to sabotage their relationship before they got married.
He stated he doesn’t want to make peace with his family and is finally asserting his independence, explaining that his parents have always dictated how the family story is told.
Okay, so things are a little quiet with this young actor right now. After speaking out, he’s seemingly taking a step back from the spotlight. I’m hearing he’s actually limited comments on his social media posts – a common tactic when someone wants to control the conversation and avoid a lot of negativity. It’s a way to regroup and manage the public’s reaction, really.
Actress Nicola has adjusted her privacy settings on the social media platform, which is owned by Meta, to manage negative reactions.
They’ve turned off comments from the general public, so now only their friends and followers can reply to their posts.
Brooklyn’s latest post, showing him holding hands with Nicola and photos of their dogs, has received surprisingly few comments – only five, compared to the thousands he normally gets.
DJ Fat Tony and singer/actor Cody Simpson from Australia are among the few dedicated fans who regularly respond to posts from Brooklyn.
For months, Brooklyn’s followers had been flooding him with messages, repeatedly telling him to reach out to his parents and try to repair their relationship.
Ever since he publicly criticized his mother, alleging she acted inappropriately at his 2022 wedding to Nicola, more people have come out in support of the former Spice Girl.
Even with jokes and memes circulating about Victoria, including fake videos showing her dancing with Brooklyn, her songs are climbing the music charts again.
Victoria’s song “Not Such An Innocent Girl,” originally released in 2001, is currently a hit! It reached the top spot on the iTunes chart in Ireland and was second most popular in the UK as of Thursday morning.
A social media campaign aiming to get Victoria Beckham a solo number one hit is boosting her chart performance. Fans believe it’s a ‘national tragedy’ that she’s the only Spice Girl who hasn’t achieved this.
I’m completely hooked on this new VB music! I’ve seen so much promotion for it in just one day – more than I have in two decades. Let’s help her reach number one – it would be the biggest surprise of the year! Download ‘Not Such An Innocent Girl’ and stream ‘Posh’ – we’re all going crazy for it, and it feels like everyone needs to hear it right now!
Reports said Victoria was devastated when she saw Brooklyn’s post on Monday, but her own brand, Posh Spice, is gaining popularity, potentially turning the tables.
Both of Brooklyn’s younger brothers, 23-year-old Romeo and 20-year-old Cruz, have been seen out and about since Brooklyn made his announcement.
Although Victoria hasn’t been seen, Sir David was interrupted and challenged by people in the audience while speaking to the media at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
He avoided directly addressing the conflict, but later unexpectedly discussed the pros and cons of kids using social media.
He recently appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box and explained that he’s been teaching his children about the potential risks of social media, while also highlighting its positive aspects and benefits.
He discussed how social media can be both a positive and negative force, something he’s often talked about before, while speaking to the audience.
The former Manchester United player explained that his public profile and role with Unicef have allowed him to highlight the challenges children face around the world.
He added: ‘I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.
‘They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn.’
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have become central to a growing family rift, causing them to miss important events like his father Sir David’s 50th birthday and celebration of being knighted.
Brooklyn finished his long statement earlier this week by explaining that his family prioritizes public appearances and sponsorships above everything else, putting the ‘Beckham brand’ first.
These days, it seems like ‘family love’ is measured by how active you are on social media or how willing you are to prioritize family photos – even if it means neglecting work or other commitments.
It’s completely wrong to say my wife controls me. Actually, I’ve been the one being controlled – by my parents – for most of my life.
I used to struggle with intense anxiety, but surprisingly, it’s gone away now that I’ve moved away from my family. I wake up each day feeling thankful for the life I’ve built and finally experiencing peace and calm.
My wife and I simply want a peaceful, private life, and happiness for our family – without being influenced by public attention or outside pressures.
