Be warned, this contains spoilers for The Pitt season 2, episode 6! The show is heavily suggesting that Dr. Robby will face a difficult and possibly fatal outcome, and several patients seem to be hinting at this. Season 2 of The Pitt has been busier than season 1, with a surge of patients arriving due to the Fourth of July holiday and patients being transferred from Westbridge Hospital.
Despite the dedicated doctors of The Pitt striving to give every patient the same level of care, the show suggests things won’t end well for Robby. He’s planning a three-month break after a long shift, intending to ride off on his motorcycle. However, subtle clues throughout the series imply this might not actually happen.
The Pitt Season 2 Keeps Featuring Motorcycle Accidents
Throughout the second season of The Pitt, the show has foreshadowed the risks of Robby’s motorcycle trip. As of episode 6, the season has already shown two patients injured in motorcycle accidents. In episode 3, a couple named Nancy and Mark were admitted to the hospital; Mark recovered consciousness, but Nancy suffered internal bleeding.
The sixth episode featured Brandon, a stunt driver injured in a motorcycle accident, though his injuries weren’t as severe as some previous patients. Throughout the series, Robby’s motorcycle has been a recurring topic, and both doctors and a patient named Yana Kovalenko have cautioned him against riding it during his travels.
Dr. Robby Not Wearing A Helmet Has Been A Discussion In The Pitt Season 2
Robby’s biggest issue seems to be his lack of a helmet, and his colleagues repeatedly warn him about it. He ignores their concerns, even though a long ride without one is risky. This strongly suggests he’s going to be in a motorcycle accident after work.
I’m so excited for Season 2 of The Pitt! It sounds like we’re getting another 15 episodes, which is great, but it also means those incredibly long 12-hour shifts are probably going to get even longer – apparently, things keep happening to stretch it out. I just read a rumor that Robby might get into a car accident right after leaving work, and then become a patient at the trauma center! That would be wild, but honestly, with this show, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Would The Pitt Kill Off Dr. Robby?
The heart of the story in The Pitt is Robby’s personal struggles, so it’s improbable he’ll die in a simple accident like a motorcycle crash. However, having him become a patient at the trauma center is a real possibility. This would create intense drama in the last four episodes, forcing those he’s trained to rely on their skills to save him.
The show subtly hinted at this earlier when he said he’d be in charge of the trauma center only until his shift ended. This strangely suggested he wouldn’t be the one calling the shots after the 12th hour, strongly implying that “The Pitt” will eventually lead to him becoming a patient himself.
New episodes of The Pitt season 2 arrive Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max.
