Emilia Jones and Marisa Abela were standout guests at the Dunhill pre-BAFTA dinner for filmmakers, held in London on Tuesday.
Twenty-three-year-old Emilia looked effortlessly chic in a light pink dress. It had delicate white lace around the square neck and a pretty, tied bow.
She paired the look with matching satin pink heels and kept her accessories to a minimum.
Meanwhile, Marisa, 29, looked chic in an oversized black cropped jacket and capri trousers.
She added height with black pointed heels and carried her belongings in a stylish black bag.
The actress was joined by her husband, Jamie Bogyo, who looked dapper in a black suit.
Haley Bennett, Jason Isaacs, Brian Cox, Aidan Turner and Alex Hassell were also in attendance.
Last month, David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood – both rising stars themselves, having been nominated in 2025 – revealed who was nominated for the 2026 BAFTAs.
Following its strong showing at the Academy Award nominations, the film One Battle After Another received a total of 14 nominations, with Leonardo DiCaprio, its lead actor, also receiving a nomination.
The film Sinners received the second-highest number of nominations with 13. Marty Supreme and Hamnet both earned 11 nominations each. Frankenstein and Sentimental Value each received 8 nominations, while I Swear and Bugonia garnered 5 nominations apiece. The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion, and F1 each received 3 nominations.
The nominees for Best Film are Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, and Sinners and Sentimental Value.
Chloe Zhao’s film, Hamnet, based on Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel about Shakespeare’s family, has received more BAFTA nominations than any other film directed by a woman.
Find out who wins at the EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday, February 22nd, when the ceremony is broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Jessie Buckley, the acclaimed Irish actress, is continuing her successful awards season run with a nomination for her performance in Hamnet. This comes after she recently won a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award, and received Academy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
The nominees for the Leading Actress BAFTA Award include Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), and Emma Stone (Bugonia).
Paul Mescal, who acted alongside Jessie Buckley in Hamnet, wasn’t nominated for an Oscar, but he did receive a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He’s up against Benicio Del Toro (One Battle After Another), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Peter Mullan (I Swear), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another), and Stellan Skarsgard (Sentimental Value).
Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for a BAFTA award for the seventh time, and could potentially win his second, for his performance as the lead actor in the critically acclaimed film, One Battle After Another.
The actor is up against stiff competition for awards in 2026, including Timothée Chalamet (for Marty Supreme), Robert Aramayo (I Swear), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia).
Wunmi Mosaku, the Nigerian-British actress from ‘Sinners,’ is a strong contender for the Supporting Actress award, facing competition from Carey Mulligan (‘The Ballad of Wallis Island’) and Emily Watson (‘Hamnet’).
Completing the list are Odessa A’Zion, working on Marty Supreme’s project, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Sentimental Value, and Teyana Taylor for One Battle After Another.
The following actors and actresses are first-time BAFTA Film nominees in a performance category: Robert Aramayo, Odessa A’zion, Rose Byrne, Chase Infiniti, Michael B. Jordan, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsgård, and Teyana Taylor.
Oh my gosh, you guys, the Best Director noms are OUT and I’m losing it! Two of the six? Two?! are first-timers! Can you believe it? Ryan Coogler is nominated for ‘Sinners’ – I’ve been saying for years he’s a genius – and Josh Safdie, for ‘Marty Supreme’! I’m so thrilled for both of them, honestly. It’s amazing to see fresh talent getting recognized!
Ryan Coogler’s film received a significant boost with the BAFTA nominations, following a week where it led the Academy Awards with an impressive 16 nominations, including Best Picture.

The film has surpassed the Oscars record previously held by All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997), and La La Land (2016), all of which received 14 nominations.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, ‘Meanwhile One Battle After Another,’ which tells the story of a former revolutionary looking for his lost daughter, has received 13 Academy Award nominations.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s film received nominations in all four acting categories at the BAFTAs. There’s a strong chance of winning in the Supporting Actor category, with both Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro nominated.
Wes Anderson has been nominated for Best Director, and his film also received nominations for Adapted Screenplay, Casting, Cinematography, Editing, Original Score, Production Design, and Sound.
While ‘Sinners’ receiving the second-highest number of BAFTA nominations is a key distinction, it’s not the only difference when compared to the Oscar nominations.
Despite not receiving any Oscar nominations, the movie Wicked: For Good did receive two nominations at the BAFTAs: one for costume design and another for make-up and hair.
However, the Brazilian thriller The Secret Agent also earned two nominations, which is half the number it received at the Oscars, where it was recognized in significant categories like Best Actor and Best Picture.
The film ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ wasn’t eligible for BAFTA consideration because Netflix released it online in the UK before its theatrical run, which violates BAFTA’s guidelines.
The nominees for the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award were announced earlier this month.
The nominees for the 2026 prize – Archie Madekwe (for his work in ‘Lurker’), Chase Infiniti (‘One Battle After Another’), Miles Caton (‘Sinners’), Posy Sterling (‘Lollipop’), and Robert Aramayo (‘I Swear’) – were announced at a press conference held on January 14th at London’s Savoy Hotel.
A panel of industry professionals – including actors Joe Alwyn, Sheila Atim, and Benedict Wong, as well as other experts – selected the nominees.
As a lifestyle expert, I always keep an eye on emerging talent, and the EE Rising Star Award is truly special. It’s the only award at the EE BAFTA Film Awards that’s decided by us – the British public! It’s a fantastic way to discover and celebrate the next generation of actors and actresses.
As a huge fan of Rising Star, I’ve been so impressed watching the careers of past winners! It’s amazing to see how many incredible actors have come through the program – people like David Jonsson, Mia, Emma Mackey, and Kristen Stewart, just to name a few. Eva Green, Lashana Lynch, Letitia Wright, James McAvoy, Daniel Kaluuya, John Boyega, and even Tom Hardy all got their start as Rising Stars, which really shows how much potential this initiative unlocks. It’s always exciting to see who will be next!
BAFTA judges reviewed 221 films, initially selecting 82 for a longlist. This list was then narrowed down to create the final shortlist.
BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip congratulated the creators of the 46 films nominated today, praising them for demonstrating the power of storytelling to captivate audiences, provide entertainment, and spark important conversations.
The films nominated this year are remarkable for their daring stories and beautiful filmmaking. The variety of stories, genres, and styles is truly captivating.
I hope all of our nominees, especially those joining us for the first time, relish this well-earned moment in the spotlight. I’m excited to welcome them – along with all of our returning nominees – to London.
We’re proud to present the outstanding films and filmmakers celebrated at the 79th EE BAFTA Film Awards. As the UK’s leading arts charity and academy, we’re thrilled to share this event with audiences on BBC, BBC iPlayer, and around the globe on February 22nd.
