Spider-Noir Season 2, Spider-Verse Easter Eggs Addressed by Star

Lamorne Morris has shared details about hidden references to the Spider-Verse in his role as Spider-Noir, and hinted at the possibility of a second season for the Nicolas Cage series.

This spring, viewers can watch Spider-Noir on MGM+ and Prime Video. The live-action series, led by showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, features Nicolas Cage in the title role, with Morris playing journalist Robbie Robertson from the Daily Bugle.

Nicolas Cage previously voiced Spider-Noir in the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but that character was a version of Peter Parker. In the new animated show, he’ll be playing Ben Reilly, also known as The Spider. Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have confirmed the show will explain this difference.

In an interview with Variety, Morris was questioned about whether the Spider-Noir character would include any hidden references to the Spider-Verse films.

“Absolutely,” he said. “I can’t tell you what.”

Morris playfully teased the appearances of Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield, then shared his excitement about hidden details in the show. He believes fans, particularly those who’ve followed Spider-Man for a long time, will really appreciate them. He noted the positive response to elements like Spider-Noir has been greater than anything he’s experienced before, and he’s thrilled about that.

When questioned about his future with the show and whether a second season of Spider-Noir might happen, Morris responded evasively, simply saying, “Uh, I’ll just — you know. You know what I mean.”

Spider-Noir is a new live-action series inspired by the Marvel comic, Spider-Man Noir. The show follows Ben Reilly, played by Cage, as a weary private investigator in 1930s New York City. He’s haunted by his past and must confront it as the city’s former sole superhero.

Spider-Noir will debut on MGM+ on May 25, 2026, and then become available on Prime Video two days later, on May 27th. Viewers can choose to watch the series in classic black and white or in full color.
