Ray J ignored doctors’ orders and put on an energetic performance Friday night. Videos from the concert show his eyes seemingly bleeding as he engaged with the audience.
The singer took off the top part of his orange jumpsuit, showing a medical port or device attached to the upper left side of his chest.

Ray J believes his past struggles with alcohol and drugs have severely damaged his heart, and he estimates he has until 2027 to live. He’s stated he wants to be cremated rather than buried when he passes away.
Ray J, the brother of singer Brandy and a star on “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood,” was performing a concert in Shreveport, Louisiana.
In one video, a red liquid that appeared to be blood streamed down the R&B singer’s face as he gave red roses to audience members. Another showed him singing while descending from the stage, having removed the upper portion of his jumpsuit.
In a video taken backstage, the performer, 45, assured everyone he was doing well. He said, ‘We are all fine, and no one is sick. Look at me, I’m perfectly healthy.’ He seemed frustrated, explaining that people had been making fun of him by falsely claiming he was ill.
According to Tommy Nard II of Nard Multimedia Group, who was present at the event, the individual enjoys being filmed and the spotlight. Nard told Shreveport’s KTAL news that the entire situation felt staged, and he even witnessed the person applying fake blood before going out.
A concert attendee told KTAL that they were alarmed to see what looked like blood coming from the performer’s eyes.

Ray J is currently on eight different medications for a heart problem and doctors have told him to rest, and stop drinking alcohol and smoking.
In late January, Ray J shared with TMZ that doctors had instructed him to rest in bed and abstain from drugs and alcohol. He explained he was taking eight different medications for heart problems caused by past substance use.
In a late January livestream, he admitted to believing he could manage both his alcohol and Adderall use.
Singer Ray J, whose full name is William Ray Norwood Jr., recently learned from doctors that he may need a pacemaker or defibrillator in the future. He’s scheduled for a follow-up appointment in two weeks to get more information.
Two weeks was up over the weekend.

Singer Ray J, whose full name is Willie Norwood, was arrested on Thanksgiving morning after police suspected he made threats to someone.
In a video posted on January 25th, Ray J expressed his gratitude and thanked everyone for their prayers.
He explained that he was hospitalized because his heart was functioning at only 25%. He remained optimistic, saying that if he stayed focused and followed his treatment plan, he would be okay. In a video, he described the right side of his heart as severely damaged, saying it was ‘like, done.’
Ray J mentioned his heart was functioning at 60%. This probably refers to his ejection fraction – a measurement of how much blood the heart pumps out with each beat. While heart failure can occur on either side of the heart, WebMD notes that issues with the right side are less frequent.
A representative for Ray J did not respond immediately Tuesday to The Times’ request for comment.
I just saw this really insightful quote Ray J posted on his Instagram story yesterday. It said, ‘If you want to know who your real friends & family are, lose your job, get sick, or go through hard times. You’ll see clearly.’ It really hit home, you know? It’s so true – tough times really show you who cares about you.
