G2 Esports held a discussion on January 16th about the current state of esports and gaming in Germany. The event, which included leaders from both the government and gaming industry, was hosted at G2’s office in Berlin.
G2 invites leaders to discuss esports in Germany
A recent G2 panel, led by COO Sabrina Ratih, explored how Germany can stay competitive in the global esports scene. Discussions covered partnerships between government and esports businesses, the support systems needed for players of all levels, and a growing trend towards non-profit esports organizations. The panel also highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusion within Berlin’s esports community.

Berlin and esports
City officials have demonstrated a recurring interest in the gaming industry. Previous projects, such as the Giffey-supported House of Games, have already established a central meeting place for gaming companies and professionals.
As a huge gaming fan, it’s awesome to hear that Berlin is really investing in the industry! Apparently, it’s becoming a major force for new ideas, getting everyone more digital, and boosting the economy. With over €6 million in funding, the city’s hoping to bring in more game studios, companies, startups, and developers – basically, they want to become the place for gaming innovation in Europe, and I think that’s fantastic!
Okay, so the mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey, basically just said they’re really trying to attract game developers to the city! They’re building this “House of Games” to be a central hub – think networking events, help with funding, and getting your game noticed. She even said Berlin wants to be the top spot for innovation in all of Europe, and this is a big part of making that happen. Sounds pretty cool for anyone in the industry, honestly!
BLAST brings Brawl Stars Cup to Berlin
On February 16th, BLAST revealed that the Brawl Cup will be held in Berlin. This Brawl Stars esports competition takes place from May 15th to May 17th at the Uber Eats Music Hall.
