Jessica Raine, known for her role in Call the Midwife, will star alongside Damien Molony (Bergerac) in a new eight-part BBC series called Two Weeks in August. The series, directed by Tom George (Sherwood), promises plenty of “drama and destruction” and has been described as both funny and realistically touching. The BBC has just released a sneak peek at the upcoming show.
Created by Catherine Shepherd (known for Shrink Next Door) and directed by Tom George (Sherwood), Two Weeks in August follows a group of friends reconnecting on a summer vacation. What starts as a relaxing getaway quickly becomes complicated as they uncover hidden truths about themselves and their relationships.
Set in the beautiful scenery of Greece, Two Weeks in August follows a woman seeking happiness on vacation with loved ones. However, a single, unexpected kiss soon throws her idyllic getaway into turmoil.

As the group realizes they’re stranded on the island and face dangerous, life-threatening circumstances, they quickly begin to blame each other.

The BBC has given fans a first look at Raine’s character, Zoe, alongside Molony’s character. Another image shows Zoe deep in thought while standing on a rocky hilltop.
Antonia Thomas will play Jess, and Nicholas Pinnock, known for his work in Hedda, will portray Solomon. Thomas is pictured relaxing by a pool.

The first images from the new series feature Leila Farzad (known for I Hate Suzie) and Hugh Skinner (Fleabag), who play characters named Nat and Jacob. A preview image hints at a group of friends heading to a party that will change their lives, in both good and bad ways.
The show features a talented cast including Tom Goodman-Hill, known from Baby Reindeer, Sonny Poon Tip from Industry, and Cassius Hackforth (Doctor Who). Dolly Wells (Dracula), Maria Almeida (The Buccaneers), Khalil Gharbia (The Lost Boys), Dylan Brady (Mary & George), and Florence Banks (The New Look) also star.
