Danny Wallis, a millionaire known for buying blocks on the reality show, has shared how much he’s hoping to sell his latest purchase for – and the price is surprisingly high.
Danny, with an estimated net worth of $120 million, recently purchased a house in Daylesford that was featured in the 2025 series created by friends Mat Johnson and Robby Lippett.
He’s now renting out the beautiful house for $2,500 a week, offering people the chance to live in a home that was featured on a reality TV show.
Besides the cost, potential buyers need to be aware this property comes with a two-year lease agreement, which is a significant commitment.
The house is sold with all furniture included and boasts a remarkable wine cellar built underground, which many believed would have helped Robby and Mat win the contest.
The open-concept living and dining areas are beautifully finished with oak floors in a herringbone pattern. High, vaulted ceilings and skylights add to the bright and spacious feel.
The kitchen is beautifully equipped with a butler’s pantry and includes four NEFF ovens, offering plenty of cooking space.
The home boasts a luxurious main bedroom with a large dressing room, complete with a walk-in closet and a bathroom featuring a standalone bathtub.
The guest bedroom includes a private bathroom, and two other bedrooms feature built-in, custom wardrobes.
The elegant home features artwork by Jade Torres and several pieces by Bromley.
Although the property comes with furniture, the listing notes that the furniture shown in photos might not be exactly what you’ll find in the actual unit.
It’s a significant increase for the area, as PropTrack data shows Danny is asking $1972 more than the average rental price for properties in Daylesford.
So far, only three of the five houses featured on the 2025 season have been sold. Han Thetford and Can Wood’s house, and the property owned by Emma and Ben Cox, are still for sale, both listed around $3 million.
Robby and Mat were upset after only earning $109,999 at the final auction of the show.
Danny ultimately paid $3.09 million for the property, but it didn’t quite meet his friends’ expectations.
I was so gutted for them when the results came in, but I was really impressed with how they handled it. They told 9Entertainment they were determined to stay positive, even though it was clearly a huge disappointment.
‘It’s not great, but it is what it is,’ Mat told the publication.
It’s complicated. While it’s not just about the money, I did lose potential earnings by declining this opportunity, and this offer wouldn’t even cover those lost costs.
The group announced they would share the prize money equally, resulting in roughly $55,000 each – a much smaller amount than they had anticipated.
Robby admitted it was a challenging project, but expressed satisfaction with the final result, saying, ‘It’s a beautiful house, and I’m sure the new owner and their guests will really love it.’
Despite everything, the couple stayed positive about what’s ahead, and they felt the experiences they had on the Channel Nine renovation show were more important than any financial gain.
We built, drilled, and fastened things together, and along the way, we experienced both joy and frustration. According to Mat, the result was a spectacularly messy bedroom headboard.
‘We met some beautiful best mates for a long time. This isn’t the end of us. Watch out Australia.’
In 2025, Brit and Taz Etto achieved the highest sale at auction, with their house selling for $3.41 million and earning them a profit of $520,000. The Western Australian couple were thrilled with the result.
Meanwhile, Danny is no stranger to The Block, having bought 12 properties from the show since 2012.
He has reportedly spent a significant $45.9 million fortifying his Block portfolio.
