Jade Jagger has discussed the pressure of being known as Sir Mick Jagger’s daughter and living with his famous reputation. She feels the weight of being in his shadow.
The jewellery designer, age 54, has admitted that being Mick’s child has been difficult, as people have certain expectations because of her family name.
As someone who’s observed families in the public eye for years, I can definitely understand the pressures that come with a famous last name. Recently, I read that being a Jagger – yes, that Jagger family – has been a real burden at times. It’s not just about the name itself, but the constant expectations and being measured against such a legendary figure. It’s a weight, she said, and honestly, I get it. It’s tough living in someone else’s shadow, especially when that shadow is so iconic.
The businesswoman explained that having the last name ‘Jagger’ has sometimes been difficult.
It can be really tough sometimes, because people expect a lot and you’re constantly being compared to others.
Jade described her childhood as challenging, explaining that she had to work hard to establish her own identity while growing up in the shadow of a famous musician.
‘Growing up with a dad who has achieved so much meant living in his shadow, ‘ she added.
She also shared that she didn’t have a typical childhood, as she traveled extensively with her father who toured the world for his work.
She often jokingly calls herself a ‘gypsy,’ but she realized she simply didn’t know any other way of life and always assumed her childhood was typical.
Looking back, I can confidently say that growing up surrounded by so many different cultures really made me who I am today. It broadened my perspective and instilled a deep appreciation for diversity – something I carry with me in everything I do. It’s amazing how formative those early experiences can be!
Jade is a mother of three children: Assisi, 33, and Amba, 29, with her former partner Piers Jackson, and Ray, 11, with her husband Adrian Fillary.
Jade’s eldest daughter’s partner, Alexander Key, went missing last month.
Police and the Coastguard responded to a report of a man’s body found in the sea at Bude around 6:30 PM on January 31st.
Police haven’t officially identified the body yet, but they think it’s Alexander, a 37-year-old man who was reported missing on January 24th.
His death has not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Alexander, a chef and father of two, was last seen alone at the Cobweb Inn pub in Boscastle, Cornwall, on Friday, January 24th.
