Jesy Nelson shares adorable video of her baby twins to celebrate as her Life After Little Mix documentary tops Amazon’s viewing charts

Jesy Nelson posted a sweet new video of her twin daughters just after her documentary, which details their difficult health journey, became the most-watched program on Amazon on Monday.

Perrie Edwards, 34, and her ex-partner Zion Foster welcomed their twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, prematurely in May 2025. Last month, Perrie shared that the twins have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1).

Jesy Nelson’s documentary, Life After Little Mix, came out on Friday, revealing details about a health issue she’s been dealing with and explaining why she chose to leave Little Mix in 2020.

Jesy shared a video showing her baby daughters and a clip of her documentary, which was currently the most-watched program. She captioned it with a simple message of gratitude: ‘Still can’t believe it, thank you everyone.’

Since learning her twins have Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1 (SMA1), Jesy has been urging the NHS to include a test for the condition in the standard newborn heel prick test. She believes this inexpensive test, costing about £1 per baby, could have allowed her twins to receive treatment sooner and potentially prevented lasting leg problems.

The singer shared a video on Instagram of herself and her friends excitedly watching the number of signatures on a petition grow. They were overjoyed when it reached 100,000, celebrating with cheers and tears. The total has now surpassed 120,000.

Jesy shared a heartfelt post, saying she was incredibly grateful for a recent moment and credited her fans for making it happen. She explained she couldn’t find the words to express how thankful she was.

Wow, I’m absolutely blown away by the incredible support! Seriously, every single signature on that petition means the world to me and to everyone in the SMA community. We’ve cleared the first big obstacle, and it feels amazing! I truly believe that if we keep working together, we can really make a difference and bring about positive change. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

While continuing to advocate for newborn screening to include the condition, she’s shared that she’s put her music career on hold.

Jesy Nelson recently appeared on Heart FM’s breakfast show and shared with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston that she is now completely focused on raising her twin babies.

She shared that while she’d never completely rule out a return to music, her children are her priority right now, and she simply doesn’t have the time for it.

As a lifestyle expert, and most importantly, a mom, my children are truly my everything. Right now, my biggest priority is being their advocate – specifically, I’m working to improve newborn heel prick testing so we can give all babies the strongest possible start. It’s a cause I’m deeply passionate about, and honestly, it consumes most of my energy and focus.

‘Because that’s going to determine their future. That’s my main focus right now.’

She previously shared with Daily Mail that the daily medical treatments her babies need are heartbreaking, as she feels like she’s causing them pain when they cry and scream.

She said caring for the twins was incredibly emotionally challenging, with some days being truly awful and others a little easier.

Jesy and her former partner, Zion, didn’t anticipate the challenges of raising their children, and she admits that covering the costs of their medical care is a constant worry.

Jesy Nelson described her daily life to the Daily Mail as incredibly demanding, saying it’s something you really have to experience to understand just how intense it is, even though she can talk about it.

In her new Prime Video documentary, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, Jesy Nelson finally explained why she left Little Mix.

Even though she developed a close, sisterly relationship with her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall, the singer felt distant from them after she suddenly left the group following a private suicide attempt in 2020. She described them as feeling like strangers at that point.

I remember before talking to the girls, I was really worried about the legal side of things. I kept asking myself if I was even allowed to share what was going on, or if I was stuck with keeping it all hidden.

I was upset that the lawyer told them I wanted to leave before I had a chance to explain it myself. It really hurt their feelings, and things definitely shouldn’t have happened that way.

Honestly, it really frustrated me to have something taken away without a chance to explain my side. I just wanted the opportunity to share why I couldn’t continue, and it felt unfair not to be given that.

When Nelson overdosed, she was supposed to compete in the final of Little Mix’s talent show, The Search on BBC. Her unexpected absence led host Chris Ramsey to say she was sick.

The singer explained that her lawyer announcing her exit from the band without her approval caused a rift between her and the other members.

She explained that she had prepared herself emotionally and wanted to have an open conversation with the girls. She wanted to tell them about her actions, share her feelings, and help them understand her perspective.

My manager called and told me the team was willing to talk, but they requested a therapist be present during the conversation to ensure everyone felt comfortable.

I was shocked and hurt. I had just been discharged from the hospital and really needed their support, but it didn’t feel like I was getting it from my sisters. It’s been five years, and I still wonder if their behavior was their own, or if someone in management had influenced them. I’ll never have the answer because we never talked about it.

Eventually, we had a really awkward phone call. It felt strange, like we were talking to complete strangers.

That phone call was incredibly awkward – no one knew how to respond, and it ended up being the last time we all spoke together.
