I just stumbled across this show on Netflix called Animal Kingdom, and it’s seriously gripping! It’s a crime drama with a lot of action, and I think it’s going to be my next binge-watch for sure. It stars Ellen Barkin and Finn Cole, who plays this guy, J, who has to move in with family he hasn’t seen in ages after his mom passes away. It’s actually based on an Australian movie from a few years back, but honestly, I went in knowing nothing and was immediately hooked.

Janine Barkin plays the matriarch of the family, nicknamed “Smurf,” and J quickly discovers she’s running a criminal enterprise in California. Even when others try to control things, J is one of the few who dares to stand up to Smurf.
