On February 15, 2026, a post stated that Sydney Sweeney was being considered for a role as a Jedi by Lucasfilm. The post quickly gained attention, receiving almost 60,000 views and sparking hundreds of comments. This news followed months of online rumors about Sweeney potentially joining the franchise.
Rumors are spreading that the actor may be involved with upcoming Star Wars movies as Lucasfilm works on several projects for theaters. These include a film following Rey’s adventures and a new story set in the New Republic, directed by Dave Filoni. Additionally, Simon Kinberg is developing a brand new trilogy.
