Gethin Jones, 48, enjoys ski trip with stunning Sky Sports presenter Pien Meulensteen as Helen Skelton, 29, finally addresses romance rumours with her TV co-star

Gethin Jones celebrated his birthday with a scenic flight alongside Sky Sports presenter Pien Meulensteen, and he shared photos from their trip on Instagram on Sunday.

BBC Morning Live host, 48, enjoyed a day of celebration with friends alongside 29-year-old Dutch journalist, linking arms with him throughout.

In addition to his other work, Pien contributes to ITV, the Premier League, and DAZN’s coverage of the Women’s Champions League.

Gethin shared photos with the caption: ‘Had a great few days in Morzine with the amazing ‘padel princesses’.’

I first visited the mountains about 20 years ago and immediately tried snowboarding in the halfpipe and even a ski jump! I’ve skied a few times since then, but this time I decided to take a lesson – and it made a huge difference.

I’m hoping to see some new videos from @pienmeulensteen soon! In the meantime, here’s something else to enjoy.

Daily Mail has contacted Gethin and Pien’s representatives for comment.

I was really interested to hear Helen Skelton finally talk about the rumors linking her with Gethin Jones, her co-host on BBC Morning Live. She was so open and honest in the interview, and it was great to get things clarified!

The Countryfile presenter, age 42, has been in the news lately due to speculation about a new relationship.

Rumors began circulating after reports surfaced that the two had gone on dates at a high-end spa the previous year.

Helen, who separated from her husband, rugby player Richie Myler, in 2022, has shared news about her relationship with Gethin.

When asked about more romantic dates, she told The Mirror, “No, not really. He’s currently working in Manchester, so things are just fine.”

I keep hearing rumors, but let me tell you, Helen has made it very clear – she and the other person are just work friends, and always have been! She’s said it repeatedly: they simply work together, there’s nothing romantic going on, absolutely not. It’s a purely professional relationship, and she wants everyone to understand that.

They printed pictures of us at work and that we’re together because we are at work together.’

When Helen and Gethin attended both the Pride of Britain awards in October and a fancy event for the Royal Television Society in Manchester a month later, it really surprised even the people they work with.

Helen was devastated when her husband, former rugby player Richie, left her just four months after their daughter Elsie was born in 2021.

It’s easy to see what these two have in common: they both used to host Blue Peter, both competed on Strictly Come Dancing, and both have the classic good looks often seen in people who started their careers on children’s television.

People started talking when they were spotted together in June at a spa near where one of them lives. The fact that they were carrying a suitcase, and were 110 miles away from the other person’s home, only fueled the speculation.

They didn’t address the rumors, offering no confirmation or denial – not publicly, and not through their representatives. This newspaper reached out multiple times for a response, but they remained silent until now.

Helen recently told Prima Magazine that she and her co-star have become very close, sometimes even losing track of being on camera. She described them as great friends, which can make filming their BBC One show with Michelle Ackerley a little challenging.

I’ve known Michelle and Gethin forever – a full 25 years, actually! It’s funny, Gethin was on Blue Peter before I was, so we kept bumping into each other through work. And Michelle and I were flatmates back when we both lived in London, which is how we really became close.

We all think alike and get along really well. The challenge is that because we’re such close friends, we sometimes act like we’re not broadcasting live. I spend as much time with my colleagues as I do with my actual friends.

Helen and Gethin have been the regular hosts of Morning Live since it returned in January 2024. The show originally launched three years earlier, created by the BBC as a competitor to This Morning.
