Invincible Season 4 Will Officially Include 17 Marvel Actors

The worlds of Marvel and Invincible have often connected, with actors appearing in both superhero universes. The popular Invincible series, adapted from the comic book, returns to Amazon Prime Video on March 18th with Season 4. These new episodes will focus on the show’s main character, played by Steven Yeun, as he faces off against Thragg, a dangerous alien intent on conquering Earth.

Although Steven Yeun hasn’t appeared in other superhero universes yet, many of his fellow actors from Invincible have. Throughout the show’s three seasons, the adult animated series has included over a dozen stars who also appear in Marvel projects.

The viewership is expected to grow significantly in Season 4, especially with the addition of new characters like Universa, played by Danai Gurira, and several other new villains.

Every Marvel Actor in Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible

J.K. Simmons

J.K. Simmons, the Academy Award-winning actor, is a major star of the Invincible series. He famously voiced Omni-Man, a powerful alien character similar to Superman, who was sent to Earth with a hidden plan to eventually take over the planet.

J.K. Simmons is well-known to comic book fans for his memorable portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson, the blustery newspaper editor, in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. He was so praised for this role that Marvel brought him back to play Jameson again in their more recent Spider-Man movies.

Walton Goggins

As a huge animation fan, I have to say Walton Goggins absolutely nails Cecil Stedman in Invincible. He’s this really intriguing, almost secretive character – think of him as a darker, more morally gray version of Nick Fury. Basically, he’s the guy who connects all the superheroes to the U.S. government within the show’s universe.

Stephen Goggins played the villain Sonny Burch in the Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp. After a fight with Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), his character was arrested by police and is now in jail.

Ross Marquand

Ross Marquand seems to have a talent for portraying superheroes from different eras. The 44-year-old actor played a version of the Red Skull in the Marvel films Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, specifically on the planet Vormir. Hugo Weaving originally played the Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger, but Marquand later took on the role.

Marquand also provides the voice for The Immortal, a superhero in Invincible. This character is effectively immortal and has been fighting crime as a hero for centuries, even going back to the time of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.

Lee Pace

Lee Pace joins Invincible Season 4 as Thragg, a key new character. Think of him as the villainous counterpart to Invincible – a major threat who will cause trouble for the hero for a long time. Thragg is a powerful leader from the Viltrumite alien race, sent to Earth to complete a mission that Invincible and his father, Omni-Man, previously failed to accomplish.

Lee Pace has worked with Marvel before, famously playing the villain Ronan the Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy. In that movie, he was the main antagonist and fought the Guardians when they first came together as a team.

Tatiana Maslany

Tatiana Maslany is famous for her role as Jennifer Walters, also known as She-Hulk, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She first portrayed the character in the 2022 Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. While some fans speculate she might appear in the future Avengers: Doomsday movie, this hasn’t been officially announced.

In the animated series Invincible, Canadian actress Jill Talley provides the voice for Telia, who is Allen the Alien’s girlfriend and leader. Since Allen the Alien will continue to be important to the story, we can anticipate that Telia will as well.

Clancy Brown

Clancy Brown is a remarkably talented voice actor, and it’s no surprise he’s worked on many comic book projects. In the Invincible series, he plays Damien Darkblood, a detective who happens to be a demon from Hell.

I remember seeing Clancy Brown as Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok – he was this huge fire giant that Thor fights right at the beginning of the movie. It was a quick role, but a memorable one because of how imposing he looked!

Danai Gurira

Danai Gurira, known for her role in Black Panther, is joining the cast of the Invincible animated series. She will play Universa, a villain from the Invincible comics, in the show’s fourth season. Universa is an alien warrior who comes to Earth to collect energy, hoping to save her dying planet.

Danai Gurira is well-known for playing Okoye, the strong Wakandan warrior and leader of the Dora Milaje, in the Black Panther movies. She’s set to reprise that role in the next Avengers: Doomsday film.

Bruce Campbell

In the series Invincible, Bruce Campbell plays the Great Beast, a powerful creature from Hell. This demon wants to take back his position as ruler of the underworld.

Bruce Campbell has made several appearances in Marvel films and TV shows. He had a small role as a theater usher in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy – fans even speculated he might become the villain Mysterio! More recently, he played Pizza Poppa, the pizza vendor, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Todd Williams

As a big fan of Invincible, I definitely recognized the voice of Titan – it’s Todd Williams! He’s been absolutely fantastic bringing that rock-skinned villain to life ever since Season 1. You always see Titan hanging around with Machine Head, and Williams really makes him a memorable character.

Last fall, Jibrail Williams joined the Marvel universe by voicing the character Blade Knight – a unique blend of Blade and Moon Knight – in the popular animated series Marvel Zombies.

Tzi Ma

For fans of Agents of SHIELD, you might recognize the actor who plays Master Liu in Invincible. Before that role, he played Agent Quan in the Marvel series, which aired on ABC. Agent Quan was based in Hong Kong and appeared in the Season 1 episode, “Girl in the Flower Dress.”

However, Ma’s character in Invincible isn’t a traditional hero. In the Amazon Prime Video series, he plays Master Liu, a tough supervillain who leads a criminal organization called The Order and has the power to turn into a dragon.

Grey Griffin

Grey Griffin, a well-known voice actor, has a unique role in Invincible – she voices two different characters! The 52-year-old actress brings both Shrinking Rae, who can change size, and Monster Girl, a child who transforms into a frightening creature, to life in the series.

She’s lent her voice to many characters in the Marvel universe, including Wasp in the Ultimate Avengers films, Betty Brant in The Spectacular Spider-Man, and Moloid Shaman in Hulk and the Agents of SMASH.

Khary Payton

Khary Payton, well known for his work on the Invincible animated series, is joining the Marvel universe. He’ll be voicing the character Azzuri/Black Panther in the new video game, Marvel 1943, which is set to release later this year.

In the animated series Invincible, Steven Yeun voices Black Samson, a superhero who can fly, has incredible strength, and can heal quickly.

Kevin Michael Richardson

Grey Griffin voices the Monster Girl character in Invincible when she appears as a young girl, while Kevin Michael Richardson provides the voice when she transforms into her larger, more powerful form.

The actor is also famous for his work in the Marvel universe, appearing in shows like Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of SMASH.

Eric Bauza

As a huge animation and voice acting fan, I’m always impressed by Eric Bauza. He’s seriously one of the busiest guys in the business – you probably know him as the current voice of Bugs Bunny! But I’ve really been enjoying his work as D.A. Sinclair in Invincible since the very beginning. He started out as kind of a jerk, but it’s been awesome to watch his character slowly turn things around and become someone you actually root for as the series has progressed.

Bauza has voiced characters in several Marvel animated series, including Iron Spider in Ultimate Spider-Man and Thunderbolt Ross in Iron Man: Armored Adventures.

Mark Hamill

While Mark Hamill is widely known for voicing the Joker in DC animated series for many years, he’s also worked on projects in other superhero worlds. He previously provided the voice for Oiler in Ultimate Avengers 2.

He also plays the tailor to the world’s best superheroes, Art Rosenbaum, in Invinicible.

Fred Tatasciore

Fred Tatasciore voiced multiple characters in the Invincible series. He was previously known for playing the large villain, Giant, in seasons 2 and 3, and also provided the voice for Atom Eve’s adoptive father, Adam Wilkins.

For Marvel, Tatasciore provided the voice for Hit-Monkey in the character’s brief, mature-themed series on Hulu.

BONUS: Christian Convery

Christian Convery rounds out this list, but with a slight note: he voices Oliver, the younger brother of Mark Grayson, in the animated series. Last season, viewers watched Oliver begin his path as a superhero, debuting his Kid Omni-Man costume.

Though fans might not realize it, Jack Convery has actually been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He played a character named Joey in the 2018 film Venom, but his entire scene ended up being removed from the final cut.
