FURIA secures historic first VCT Americas Kickoff win in Brazilian derby

FURIA has made history, winning the VCT Americas Kickoff 2026 tournament after a hard-fought match against MIBR. This is their first-ever championship win in the league.

At the VCT Americas Kickoff 2026, no team has managed to slow down FURIA. With a revamped lineup and a lot of self-belief, they defeated MIBR – another Brazilian team – in a close 3–2 match, knocking MIBR into the lower bracket of the tournament.

Few predicted MIBR and FURIA would make it to the Upper Bracket finals, but both teams are playing exceptionally well right now. FURIA earned their place by defeating KRÜ Esports, Sentinels, and G2 Esports.

After facing opponents who weren’t playing with their full teams, FURIA really got to show what they could do against G2 Esports. They won a close best-of-three series, earning a spot in the Grand Finals. Their opponents will be MIBR, another strong Brazilian team that just had a great win against the current champions, NRG.

The Grand Final was an incredible display of top-level skill. Both FURIA and MIBR battled fiercely, and the match wasn’t decided until the very last map. Although MIBR had some amazing individual players, it was FURIA’s strong teamwork, communication, and overall confidence that ultimately led them to victory.

FURIA won the VCT Americas Kickoff 2026 after a closely contested first half on the Split map, giving them the top seed for Masters Santiago. This marks their return to international competition after a three-year absence, as their previous best regional result was a sixth-place finish in the 2023 VCT Americas League.

Masters Santiago

FURIA has qualified for the Masters Santiago Playoffs as the top seed from the Americas. This tournament will be the first international event for three of their players, representing a major milestone in their careers.
