LEGO fans now know when the Avengers: Doomsday sets will be available. Marvel Studios has begun the countdown to the movie’s release with trailers showcasing characters like Captain America, Thor, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Wakandans. Throughout the year, fans can expect more trailers, a first look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, and the release of merchandise, all leading up to the movie’s premiere on December 18th.
As a huge Marvel fan and LEGO collector, I was thrilled to see a recent leak hinting at the first Avengers: Doomsday sets coming out in October! Apparently, we can expect around five or six sets based on the movie. And it looks like LEGO is also releasing their annual Marvel advent calendar in September, priced around $45. This year’s calendar is especially cool because it includes mini-figures of Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider, and even a festive, holiday-themed Wolverine! It’s shaping up to be a great end of the year for both Marvel and LEGO fans like me.
LEGO has a history of accidentally revealing plot points from Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. They’ve previously given away surprises like the first appearance of Giant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, the introduction of the Elementals in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Letitia Wright’s character Shuri taking on a new leadership role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The huge Avengers movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe require a lot of security to keep details secret. But just how much did LEGO reveal about Infinity War and Endgame before those films came out?
The movie Infinity War featured several exciting moments brought to life with impressive sets and visuals, like Bruce Banner in the Hulkbuster armor, Thor’s quest to create Stormbreaker, the intense battle in Wakanda, and Iron Man teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight Thanos in space.
As a huge movie fan, I remember being really impressed with how carefully they handled spoilers for Endgame. Unlike some other films, they didn’t reveal any major plot points through LEGO sets! Instead, they released sets that were just fun, standalone scenes – things like a War Machine Buster, Iron Man’s Hall of Armor, and even a Hulk Helicopter Rescue. It was a smart move to keep the big surprises under wraps.
LEGO sets did reveal some details about the ending of the Infinity Saga, like Pepper Potts getting her Rescue armor, the white suits used for time travel, and a fight at the Avengers Compound. However, they left out several important things.
Before the LEGO Doomsday sets come out, LEGO will release sets based on Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July. Information about one of these sets has already revealed a big battle between Spider-Man and a popular character who isn’t always on the side of good.
What LEGO Sets Will Avengers: Doomsday Release Early?

Marvel Studios took what it learned from keeping spoilers for Avengers: Endgame under wraps in its LEGO sets, after realizing how much information leaked from Avengers: Infinity War. They were even more careful with Endgame, keeping almost the entire plot a secret from fans.
It’s difficult to predict how revealing the LEGO sets for Avengers: Doomsday will be, given how different the toys are from what we know about the movie. However, LEGO has spoiled plot details before – last year, they revealed the first look at Galactus from The Fantastic Four – so dedicated Marvel fans might pick up on some hints from these sets.
People following the upcoming Doomsday release are aware that some characters haven’t been revealed yet. LEGO could continue to spoil surprises by showing these characters, but it’s more probable that initial LEGO sets will focus on the characters we already know about.
We won’t know exactly how much of Avengers 5 Marvel Studios will show us until the official trailer comes out in the next few months. The short teasers released so far have already confirmed a scene at the X-Mansion, and rumors suggest a confrontation between the Avengers and X-Men could be a major part of the movie, potentially even being filmed as one of the main sets.
Even though plans are still developing, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will likely be a major character featured in multiple LEGO sets for Avengers 5. Given that Spider-Man is getting a buildable LEGO figure soon, it’s highly probable Doctor Doom will receive the same treatment.
