James Jordan, a frequent performer in Taylor Sheridan‘s shows, says he’s always happy to take on another Western-style role. Having appeared in seven of Sheridan’s projects already, the actor recently discussed his next series.
I was reading an interview with James Jordan, who’s become a real favorite of mine thanks to his work in five of Taylor Sheridan’s shows. He was asked about whether he’ll be in Sheridan’s new series, The Madison, and he played coy, saying he couldn’t confirm or deny anything. But then he added something really telling: he basically said he’d say yes to any role Taylor Sheridan offers him, and honestly, who could blame him? I’d jump at the chance too!
Jordan talked about how the creator frequently uses the same actors in his projects, like Nichole Galicia and Matt Gerald. He said it was a privilege to be part of that group, explaining that when the creator called him about Lioness and Landman, he didn’t know anything about the roles or the stories – the creator simply wanted his initial thoughts.
“And I’m like, ‘Yes, sir. You just tell me when and where, and I’ll be there.’ That’s always the case for Taylor,” Jordan continued. “So, I’m sure down the line there’ll be some other stuff where I can pop up and play some interesting characters. But right now, my focus is on Landman and Lioness for the time being, for sure.”
Forrest Jordan first gained recognition playing Steve Hendon on Yellowstone, becoming a fan favorite over seasons two through five. Since then, the actor from Houston has appeared in several other Sheridan productions, including roles as Ed Simmons in Mayor of Kingstown, Cookie in 1883, and Two Cups in Lioness. Lioness and 1883 were the first times he led a series, following several guest and recurring appearances.
Jordan first worked with Sheridan on the 2017 film Wind River, and later appeared in his 2021 movie, Those Who Wish Me Dead.
What Can Yellowstone Fans Expect from The Madison?
The new series will debut on Paramount+ on March 14th. It follows the Clyburn family as they move from New York City to the Madison River Valley in Montana after experiencing a heartbreaking loss.
The show will feature Stacy and Preston Clyburn as the parents, alongside Elle Chapman and Beau Garrett playing their daughters, Paige and Bridgette. Patrick J. Adams joins the cast as Paige’s husband, Russell, and Matthew Fox will play Preston’s brother, Paul. Amiah Miller will portray Bridgette, and Alaina Pollack will play Macy, the couple’s daughters.
Even though The Madison is the Yellowstone spin-off most different from the original show, it’s still looking promising. Despite not being officially marketed as a Yellowstone spin-off, Paramount+ is already confident in its potential.
In January, she posted on social media a photo with her co-star Patrick J. Adams and others on an airport runway, writing, “That’s a wrap on Season 2.” This likely means filming for the second season of The Madison is complete, as the show has already been renewed.
The Madison premieres on Paramount+ on Mar. 14.
