Loverwatch is back! Romance Genji, Mercy, and Hanzo in this Overwatch dating sim

Love never dies! The Overwatch dating sim, Loverwatch, is back! Here’s how to romance everyone.

The popular online dating sim, Loverwatch, based on the world of Overwatch, is available again! It originally launched in 2023 and had a special event in China in 2025. Now, fans can once again pursue romantic relationships with characters like Genji, Mercy, and Hanzo.

Loverwatch is back in Overwatch

Okay, so from February 13th to March 1st, I got to play this really fun Overwatch thing called Loverwatch: Love Never Dies. It’s basically a dating sim where you can interact with Genji, Mercy, and Hanzo! The cool part is, whatever rewards you unlock by building relationships with them in the sim will actually show up in my regular Overwatch account the next time I play. Pretty neat!

Okay, so the rewards this year are exactly what we got last year, which is awesome! We’re talking about those super cute Lovey Dovey player icons for Genji, Mercy, and Hanzo. And I’m really excited about the Cupid’s Kiss intro for Hanzo again! Plus, you can still unlock the ‘Peace’ title for Genji and ‘Angel’ for Mercy, which are just perfect.

Overwatch Loverwatch routes

In Loverwatch, you have three different paths to explore. You can begin by pursuing a romance with either Genji or Mercy. Once you’ve finished those, Hanzo’s story will become available.

If you’re trying to win Genji’s affection, listen carefully to what Cupid Hanzo tells you. Give him your full attention, be mindful of his emotions, and offer him plenty of encouragement. The different paths you can take to romance him are pretty forgiving, and if you’re already familiar with Genji’s backstory, you’ll likely find his route quite easy.

The same advice applies to pursuing Mercy in Loverwatch. To impress her, learn everything you can about her. Understanding who Angela Ziegler truly is will greatly increase your chances of success.

Once you finish the story paths for Genji and Mercy, Hanzo will invite you to experience his own romantic story. It’s a brief but touching route where he reminisces about a 2CP map, gifts you an arrow, and expresses how you’ve inspired love not just in Genji and Mercy, but in his heart too.

Is Loverwatch canon?

Okay, so Loverwatch isn’t officially part of the Overwatch story, which is fine! It’s still a really cute and fun way to see a different side of Genji, Mercy, and Hanzo. I was reading an interview with the people who made it, and they said a big goal was to help us, as players, really get those characters on a deeper level. I thought that was a cool idea!
