Taylor Swift is incredibly famous – a true icon – and seems aware of her influence. However, even with all her popularity, she can’t control every situation she’s connected to, like when her name comes up in relation to something completely unrelated, such as a golf tournament.
It’s unclear if Taylor Swift plays golf, but her fiancé, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, does – and he’s quite skilled! He’s been invited to play in the prestigious Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament in 2026, which suggests he’s a talented golfer and happily accepted the invitation.
The tournament began in 1937 thanks to Bing Crosby, a famous singer who helped launch the event. Although Crosby himself didn’t win the first competition, Sam Snead did. The tournament was named in Crosby’s honor and became known as the Bing Crosby Pro-Amateur Golf Championship.
Taylor Swift didn’t show at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am but tickets were sold anyway
Okay, so a ‘pro-am’ golf event basically means they pair professional golfers with regular amateurs. That’s where Travis Kelce came in, and honestly, it’s how Taylor Swift got thrown into the mix! A lot of fans – and I mean a lot (like, $60,000 worth of tickets!) – were hoping she’d show up to support him. Everyone thought she was already in the area, near Pebble Beach, so people were really expecting to see her at the event.
However, she didn’t attend. People went to watch the golf tournament (Kelce even played a good round!), but Swift wasn’t there, and that wasn’t her responsibility. Simply being engaged to a golfer doesn’t mean she needs to be at every event he’s involved in.
Perhaps she simply wanted some relaxation – maybe shopping, a massage, or a cozy night in watching Love Island. She’s free to do what makes her happy, and spending all day on a golf course might not be her preference. Whatever she enjoys is perfectly fine.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am probably welcomes any mention of Taylor Swift. When Travis Kelce was confirmed as a participant, $60,000 worth of tickets sold out in just 12 hours – and thankfully, he played a good game!
