BTS helped make K-pop popular worldwide, and now they’re back together after each member completed their required military service in South Korea.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! It’s been almost four years since RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook fulfilled their military service, and now they’re back with a brand new album – their fifth, to be exact! It’s a really special moment for fans and a fantastic return for these incredibly talented artists.
In GQ’s March issue, the band shares what they gained from their time in the military and expresses their hope to still be performing together when they’re in their 60s.
Thinking back on his time in the military, I was really struck by something J-Hope said. He pointed out how amazing people are – we’re so good at quickly adjusting to new situations and making the best of things. It really resonated with me!
I definitely feel healthier now, and I’ve gained a broader understanding of life and different aspects of society.
I met many new people, which was a great benefit. Serving in the military is a common experience for most men in Korea.
As the group gets ready to return with a big worldwide release, Jimin shared that they recognize and value their history as a team, emphasizing that they began and continue as one.
‘And also, we have a lot of fun together.’
The popular group, nominated for five Grammys, announced to their dedicated fans (known as ARMY) in early 2026 that they’re returning after a four-year break. Their tenth studio album is set to be released on March 20th.
As a huge ARMY, it meant the world to me when BTS included a handwritten letter with their latest release! I read that RM, our amazing leader Kim Nam-joon, wrote in it that they were waiting for this comeback even more than we were – and that just shows how much passion they pour into their music. It’s so special knowing they’re all so dedicated, especially with members ranging from 28 to 32 years old. The Korea Times reported on it, and it really touched my heart.
Suga shared that he believes artists – and people in general – need to be able to honestly express both the good and bad parts of life in their work.
It feels like we’re gradually moving in that direction, especially with this album being so focused on self-reflection and personal growth. A lot has shifted, and we’re continuing to evolve.
He teased: ‘If we can keep this going, then maybe we can be dancing in our 60s…
We believe that as long as we’re all willing and able, even well into our 50s and 60s, we can continue performing together as a band.
Jimin and J-Hope have expressed their excitement about reuniting in 2026, calling it ‘the year we finally meet again.’ Rapper Suga, also known as Min Yoon-gi, shared a similar sentiment, hoping for a joyful year for everyone.
Singer V shared a hopeful message, saying they can’t wait to create even more wonderful memories with fans in 2026.
You know, I’ve been following Jungkook’s journey, and his recent message really resonated with me. He shared that his heart hasn’t changed, and he’s committed to continuing to give it his all, just like he always has. It’s a beautiful reminder that staying true to yourself and consistently striving for your best is what truly matters. It’s a really inspiring message, and I think we can all relate to that!
‘I’ve greeted you as a solo artist over the past two years,’ singer Jin wrote.
‘And now I finally get to greet you again as part of the team.’
