Erin Bateman, who appeared on the second season of Married At First Sight, has publicly addressed her breakup with Bryce Mohr.
The 36-year-old former reality TV star announced on TikTok Wednesday that she and her partner, who met on a show in 2016, have broken up.
In the video, Erin shared that the breakup was the most painful she’d ever experienced and it took her years to be able to watch Married at First Sight again.
Okay, so she started this video, and honestly, I was immediately hooked. She was like, ‘Put a finger down if you were on a reality show a decade ago and it caused the absolute worst breakup of your life – seriously, one that almost destroyed you.’ I mean, already I’m thinking of her and that whole situation, and I just need to know who’s going to put a finger down! It’s brilliant, honestly, and perfectly sets up everything. I’m so obsessed!
It took years before you could finally watch that show again without feeling awful. Every time it came on, it just brought back painful memories of the breakup that had devastated you.
Erin added that she hadn’t posted any photos of Bryce on her social media since 2019.
Despite the breakup being traumatic, Erin noted in the caption of the video that she has ‘healed’.
In 2024, the Daily Mail reported that the couple had split and were living separate lives, away from public attention.
As a huge fan, I’ve noticed my favorite reality TV couple has been super quiet lately – they haven’t shared any recent pictures of themselves together online, which is really unusual for them. They’re normally all over social media, so it’s got me a little worried!
Erin rose to fame in 2016 on series two of MAFS, where she was paired with Bryce.
They were one of the longest-surviving Married At First Sight couples from the TV experiment.
However, reports last year suggested they had broken up and were now living separate lives, staying out of the public eye.
Erin now shares vegan recipes on Instagram, where she’s built a following as a food blogger.
Meanwhile, Bryce is enjoying a quieter life and previously shared a photo with another woman.
The image, posted in August 2023, shows the pair enjoying a dessert while exploring a local market.
Back in 2018, Erin and Bryce confirmed they had broken up briefly, but were an item once again.
Things haven’t always been easy for us, but we’re still a couple,” Erin shared with NW magazine.
‘We have on and offs just like anybody else [but] at the end of the day we are still together,’ Bryce added.
Even with a lot of public interest in their private relationship, Erin said she and her partner didn’t feel obligated to explain anything after being together for two years.
She admitted that even after filming their season of Married At First Sight, they hadn’t really gotten to know each other, so they decided to take their time and not rush things.
