Alien Officially Returns in 2026 With New Series Teasing the Biggest Xenomorph War Yet

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to see where the Alien universe is going! They’re promising this next installment will be the biggest and most intense one yet. It sounds like things are really falling apart for humanity, with only three people left trying to save us from dangers coming both from outer space and right here on Earth. It’s going to be a wild ride!

Marvel Comics will launch a new series based on the Alien franchise in Spring 2026. The first issue is scheduled to come out on April 1st, and it’s a real release date – not a prank!

Written by Saladin Ahmed (known for his work on Wolverine) and illustrated by Carlos Nieto (Ultimate Black Panther), Alien: King Killer is a five-issue comic series that takes the Alien universe to a new level of intense action. The story is set in a bleak future where humanity has already been defeated and is barely surviving. Adding to the excitement, the series introduces the mysterious ‘Three Kings,’ hinting at a deeper expansion of the Alien mythology.

The new comic series, Alien: King Killer, takes place on a planet swarming with Xenomorphs. The remaining humans are desperately seeking safety under the protection of three powerful figures known as the Three Kings. However, a fourth sibling, seeking vengeance, threatens to disrupt the fragile balance.

We still don’t know who these mysterious siblings are or how they gained control. But Marvel hints that these supposed protectors are hiding dangerous secrets—secrets that might be even more threatening than the alien invaders. This makes us wonder if humanity will be destroyed by the aliens, or by the very people who are meant to be saving us.

This new series takes place after humanity has already been defeated by the Xenomorphs, making it the most grim and intense story in the Alien franchise so far. Marvel is promoting it as the start of a truly epic, but very dark, period for the Alien universe.

Writer Saladin Ahmed has hinted that his work on the series will stay true to the core ideas fans love, but will also present them in a new and interesting way, according to AIPT.

I grew up with the Alien franchise – I remember seeing Aliens in the cinema after first experiencing Alien on Betamax! Because of that, I’ve been dreaming of contributing to this universe for years. My story, King Killer, is definitely more of an action-packed thriller than straight horror, but it really digs into the core question that always fascinated me about Alien: what actually makes a monster? I can’t wait for you to join us on this wild, heart-stopping ride!

Okay, so as of today, February 12th, 2026, Marvel’s been pretty tight-lipped about their Alien: King Killer series. All we’ve gotten so far is a seriously creepy cover by David Yardin – it shows one poor person completely overwhelmed by Xenomorphs! But there’s hope for a sneak peek. Mark your calendars for May 2nd, Comics Giveaway Day™, because there’s going to be a special preview. Plus, a story that sets the stage for King Killer, penned by Ahmed with art by Emilio Laiso, will appear in the ALIEN, PREDATOR & PLANET OF THE APES #1 giveaway issue. Definitely something to keep an eye on if you’re an Alien fan!

Alien: King Killer (2026) #1 from Marvel Comics is available April 1, 2026!
