BBC Breakfast host Emma Vardy, 44, gives birth to her second child and reveals his sweet name

BBC Breakfast presenter Emma Vardy and her husband, Aaron Adams, have had a baby boy! They’ve named him, sharing the heartwarming news with fans.

The 44-year-old presenter shared the joyful news on Wednesday, posting cute pictures of her newborn son, Rocky Beau, to Instagram.

The couple, who got married in Northern Ireland in 2022, are also parents to another son, Jago Fionn, born in 2023.

Emma announced the arrival of her baby boy with heartwarming photos from the hospital, including a picture of her holding him and another of her and Aaron bringing him home.

Emma announced the wonderful news with a post saying, ‘Rocky Beau arrived on September 2nd, 2026! I’m so happy to share the beautiful story of his water birth.’

We’re absolutely head over heels in love! We’re also incredibly grateful to the amazing team at the midwife-led Manchester Birth Centre at Wythenshawe. We’ll share more details about our experience shortly.

Oh my gosh, later that night Emma posted another update! She was filming a little video for us, just talking to fans, and she took the time to specifically thank all the amazing midwives at the Manchester Birth Centre. It was SO sweet, honestly. I’m obsessed with how much she appreciates everyone who’s helping her!

I just wanted to say how thankful I am to the midwives who helped make everything go so well, before I forget. I wanted to make sure it was noted how much I appreciate them.

Thank you for listening and helping me navigate everything. Birth is so unpredictable, and you have to make some really tough and scary decisions on your own.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how incredible certain professions can be, and I have to say, midwives are truly special. I feel so fortunate to have connected with some amazing ones during my own experiences. They’re these incredible people who walk into your life as complete strangers, and instantly become your angels – offering support and care when you need it most. It’s a demanding job, but honestly, the work they do is just phenomenal.

“We should be thankful, don’t you think?” she said, then glanced at Rocky Beau. “Your father will be home soon. I think I hear someone at the door.”

She panned the camera to capture her husband walking in with a large bouquet, exclaiming, ‘Look at this! Oh wow, I’m so lucky!’

Emma said goodbye to BBC Breakfast viewers on February 1st as she’s taking time off to start her maternity leave.

She concluded the show by saying, “That’s just about all for today! And this is my last show before I start maternity leave. Goodbye!”

Her co-presenter Roger Johnson responded: ‘Enjoy, good luck!’

Emma hinted at a return, telling viewers: ‘I’ll be back… see you.’

The actress first announced she was pregnant with her second child on social media back in October 2025.

The exciting update came two years after she welcomed her first baby, a son, named Jago Fionn.

She announced the news on Instagram with a sweet photo of her newborn baby, held close to her chest in the hospital.

Emma announced the arrival of her son, Jago Fionn, sharing that he was born just a few hours ago and is already a little shy in front of the camera.

We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing midwives and doctors at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. We’re completely in love with our new baby!

Emma and Aaron got engaged in 2021 and married a year later at Lissanoure Castle in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.

Emma announced on Instagram: ‘We did it! It was a perfect day surrounded by the people we love.’

Our Northern Irish castle was filled with sunshine, music, and laughter – it was truly magical! We feel so fortunate to have experienced it.

Shortly after Jago was born in 2023, Emma announced the family would be moving to Hollywood. This move was because of Emma’s new job as the BBC’s correspondent in Los Angeles, following five years working in Northern Ireland.

After living in Los Angeles for two years, the family moved back to England last year. Emma now works with the BBC Breakfast team in Manchester.
